Hey all,
bumping this post because the break squeal and dust are the ONLY THINGS that bug me with this car. Any recommendation of the 2000 vs. the 1500? I'm a total noob when it comes to changing brake pads. Are there any downsides to swapping? Some key points for the recc: - I've never had a problem with OEM break performance, just the dust and the horrendous squeal that plagues me at every stop sign/light. - I haven't tracked the car before but live near Laguna Seca and would like to Appreciate everyone's input in advance |

Just had these installed with kw v3's and had a drive through the canyons today and put around 100 miles on them.
Initial impressions is no squeal which is nice. Normally half way through, the OEM pads will start to squeal but these are quiet. Under hard braking, I did have to apply more pressure than normal but maybe i still need to break them in. I'll have to see how they hold up after a few hundred miles. As for noise, I am getting a noise over good size bumps and I'm not sure why. I don't think they're the coilovers as I can't think of where it would rattle there but maybe I'm wrong. It's more of a "clink" sound over a train track or small pot hole. I need to adjust the height so I'll take a look when it goes back on the lift. |

Just got my iSweep 2000's front/rear put on. No more squealing and I look forward to low/no breakdust. I've only drove like 20 miles home so I can't compare, but no break noise, no weird sounds... onward and upward.

I’ve had them for about a week now. They are great. No squeal whatsoever. Perfectly silent. The brake feel is still confident but maybe only ever so slightly more pedal travel? Not sure. Dust is considerably less. I’m glad I made the change. Amazing how nice it is to not have any brake noise/squeal.

I’m glad all of you that took my word for it that the IS2000 pads are fantasitic. I have over 5000 miles on them now and they are still like new, according to my mechanic, and I’ve never had any break squeal since installing them.
Break dust is easily less than half what it was with stock. It’s hard to give a %…I still think it’s around 70% better, but that’s just a guess. Really, just glad this post has been bumped so many times and so many are benefiting from it.

No real reason to get the 1500's over the 2000's if you don't mind a tad bit more brake dust?

Do these pads make any movement noises? I thought I had read that they clunk going forward to reverse or something along those lines.

I bought my iSweep 1500s from RG Sport. Autotecknic also has them in stock. EBC redstuff rears are available almost anywhere. ETA for EBC redstuff fronts last I heard were planned for mid-september restock, they're shipped direct from manufacturer.

The tolerances are not as good as the real Brembo or even the one that Porsche uses. I have had a customer that only have issue on the outer side, and when swap the brake pad from inner to outer, the noise stays on the outer. In general, this type of noise on floating brake pad is normal. I had same noise on my Porsche 997.1 C4S since it is an old floating brake pad system. Held by 2 pins. I am the exclusive importer/distributor for Porsche and BMW iSweep. So, whoever you see selling iSweep, they all coming from me. At least in North America side.

For the clicking? It will for a bit.
But BMW uses thin double sided tape to fix that issue. I know that it is used on XM, G01/G02 X3/X4 M40i, G2x Mx40i, G15 M850, G05/G06/G07 X5/X6/X7 colored calipers.
