All of my communication was done via e-mail, so that may have been part of the reason for the challenges with the first two dealers.

With used cars going for over MSRP, I'd rather wait for my specific spec.
Did you already bought the car? The $2500 coupon I got says it expires 1/2/2022? If you just ordered wouldn't it expire by then?

Talked to few dealers and they all said that PenFed will most likely renew it since this is one of the military perks

Looks like the coupon expired and has not yet been renewed on PenFed's site.

I see Navy Federal's similar car buying service now has $1500 off, which is new (didn't see it there late last year). Wonder if this will be the new standard.

I really hope this gets renewed. Does anyone know when it was renewed last year? Like how soon after it expired was it back up on the website with the new effective dates?

I have a car on order right now, but saw a similar spec from another dealer that was going to be delivered shortly. I asked the sales rep if he would match MSRP plus the PenFed discount, said he would check with his Sales Manager (this was yesterday). Sales Rep got back to me today saying they received a bulletin from BMW stating that the PenFed discount program is discontinued.

How true I don't know...but passing along. Checked with my local dealership today on the status of my order --- he said nothing about it.

Confirming that I heard the same that the program has been discontinued for 2022. I called TrueCar and they said Penfed cancelled this program for 2022 for BMWs. Bummer.

The broker I'm using said that Penfed for BMW is dead for 2022.

Sucks for me because it was part of the way I convinced my wife to buy the car. I told her my dealer would honor the discount, do I need to tell her it was cancelled?

Yo Sleepy. Don't give up hope. One of our fellow members posted that his dealer honored the Penfed rebate after 1/4/22. I think actually he said it was BMW that honored it, so I say be prepared to fight for it, as best you can in a seller's market anyway...

Yeah, apparently PenFed gives you some sort of certificate you could request after 6 months of ownership. I was only about 3 months in when I ordered my car. Dealer said I only needed to have it when the car was delivered. I guess I've got 10 weeks to hope they reinstate it...who knows, crazier things have happened.

It's the same Military Appreciation Rebate. It's paid for by BMW but PenFed members had access to it via a certificate. Looks like it was reduced to $1500 and now available to Navy Federal members. If you had a valid PenFed certificate some dealers may still apply it but you will likely only get the $1500.

I believe they are all the same discount administered via Truecar and provided by different CUs.

Penfed no longer has discount. Stopped on the 3rd. Now it's apparently navy federal?

How do you get the USAA discount? I am not military but I ended up getting a USAA account a few years ago when they opened it up to everyone.

Do I just show my dealer my USAA number?
