haha i agree. others said this wait is the worst i disagree. sitting at the port with no clue was the worst. Now at least we can stop looking daily since we know when the ship is due to port.

I agree! I am embarrassed to admit how many times I refreshed the tracker page each day. But now I can rest easy knowing it's on its way. Now I just need to call genius to get an idea what boat I'm on.

Now at least you can see actual movement by watching your boat on Vesselfinder! (Yep now you have another thing to check a thousand times a day, ha ha). My boat just arrived at UK port about an hour ago, it's final port call before making the transatlantic journey!

Agree, sitting at the port was the worst part, at least now I have an eta for port delivery. My
eta at Brunswick port is april 21st. Its heading to Baltimore first and eta is april 18. Best case scenario it will be at my dealer end of april but I think its gonna be first week of May. |

I hope this goes more smoothly for you. I don't know if it has to do with the bridge collapse mess, but mine was rerouted to NJ, sat in NJ for almost three weeks, and then trucked to Baltimore per the original plan. Will be trucked to NoVa from there. Good luck and see you out there!

I just checked the status of my G80 and says Dispatched from Factory. Is kind of quick because it went into production on April 1st.
At the port already, can't wait Last edited by AxelLopez; 04-23-2024 at 07:09 PM.. |

The wait is harder than I thought it would be!
Any plans on what you want the dealer to do or not do once the car arrives at the dealership? I'm planning on telling them not to wash/detail the car and to not install the front license plate. |

No, none here.
My last ordered M3 arrived with a slightly damaged bumper from the RORO/shipping. The PCD/BMW offered to repaint and repair, which I chose not to do... ended up fixing myself(no painting required). Hopefully your dealership will do the same if anything should happen. Can't speak to the front plate concern, we don't have that requirement in SC.

I came in on the Morning Lynn as well. Getting port installed MP HAS suspension. Hoping to move through quickly and take delivery week of 4/29-5/3.

Have you driven a G80 with the HAS suspension? I’m thinking about adding to my build but not sure how to set expectations on ride quality and stance? How did you decide to go for it?

I have not driven a G82 with HAS. But I decided to put it on my order cuz I knew that I wanted to lower the car some, but not dump it. After reading that the MP HAS is actually KW HAS, just rebranded, I decided to add it to my order. I know that the drop is not as much as you can get with a KW system, but as I stated I was not looking to dump the car especially where I live with the condition of the roads. As far as the ride I am willing to roll the dice on that. I actually enjoy a "stiff" car and as far as the ride height, well that is the great thing about a HAS is that it is adjustable (with proper alignment with any changes). I perviously had an F82 that I always wished had ridden a little lower, but never pulled the trigger on a HAS. So basically to avoid the regret of not ordering the MP HAS, I took the chance and ordered it. Plus I figure since it will appear on the window sticker by ordering it port installed it will add to resale/trade-in value later. We will see how it goes. Hoping they actually drop it the full 20mm as others that have taken delivery through the NY/NJ port have experienced.

One other thing that I forgot to include is that any port installed items do not void any warranties and are actually covered by BMW warranties, because they are BMW installed items. Say you get your car, install an KW HAS system, then you have an issue with alignment or suspension, guess what the dealer is going to tell you....."well you installed and aftermarket suspension system, that is why this happened and we are not covering it under warranty". As far as when you can add them.....according to posts on this site you can add them at any time before the vehicle arrives at port. I can NOT independently verify this, you should probably talk to your SA to confirm this. One other side note is that there have been posts on this site that some dealerships will not adjust MP HAS systems. I did independently verify that my dealership had the ability and would adjust my MP HAS is I needed it lowered or raised. |
