Thanks for the response, I should have said the convenience of not sending the ecu, etc.
Ok what you are saying makes total sense. I was just curious. Its more a business decision than a “no it’s impossible to be done” , which I totally respect. I would have done the same. |

Im curious if anybody else is even working on an unlock? The shipping aspect sucks. I’d imagine that femto would flash at home if possible.
Seems like a risky endeavor considering how locked down BMW has the ECU. I wouldn’t want my business model to be on the bad side of BMW USAs radar. EPA is cracking down on modifications as well. I just don’t see a lot of incentive to crack the ecu when there is already an option. |

I'd assume that Femto is keeping the unlock method in-house to better the guarantee that future years and models are unlockable. That's my theory at least.
The early X3M/X4M was able to be unlocked via OBD. BMW or BOSCH found out the exploit and from what I heard they changed the DME's bootloader for june20 dme and up. |

Don't think it was a mistake. I think the dead pedal looks nicer and photos better with the steering wheel like that vs the gas pedal pushed way back and to the right in comparison.
It makes for a better quick glance pic while scrolling but it definitely detracts from the message if you notice and actually think about that fact that it's the dead pedal. |

Got my ECU back yesterday and installed the stage 1 multi map today. Map switching and anti lag seem to work great. Still waiting on the ECA, so not trying out the flex fuel portion yet, but going to rectify that soon.
Going to try and get some dragy data tomorrow. Butt dyno is pleased, but rather have actual data.

I'm waiting for bootmod3 to release their flex fuel system. BTW, does anyone know if we are able to remove the cold start and cat CEL if using an OTS map? My plan was to start using the CSL map as I track my (manual) g80.
