M3 CS 75K ADM and allocation info

As many of us here, I am searching for an M3 CS to potentially configure. Thought I’d start a thread to track any potential allocation information and ADMs.

I’m in So Cal and have spoken to about 5-6 dealers so far. Only one dealer Alexander BMW claimed to have an allocation at this time, but requested a 75K ADM. I understand the rarity of the car but 200K+ for an M3 is outrageous.

The other dealers I’ve spoken to either had a waitlist going, but no actual information besides the order guide, and SOP of 3/23.

Wondering what others are hearing on allocation availability and ADMs?

Thanks

Just straight wild’n.

If I’m spending $200k, the badge on the back is going to say “GT3”…

And I hate seeing this, absolutely love the new CS. I would actually be willing to pay over, just not that much.

F off was an understatement.

Idk how Alexander BMW manages to sell cars. They were asking 5-10k over for X3s (non Ms) a little less than a year ago. Literally everything on their lot including floor mats was marked up last time I visited lol

I'm with you except getting the GT3 at close to MSRP is next to impossible too.

This might be the case with most dealers as they might only end up with a single allocation.

So, I'm pretty new to the world of BMW. As I watch them come out with these special editions, I'm a little underwhelmed and shocked at dealers even asking a single cent over MSRP for what you get.

In Ford/GM world where I've lived for the past few years.... the highest end version of a "base" S550 Mustang was one equipped with the 5.0L V8 and few performance bits. A special edition would be one of the two variants of the GT350 that was equipped with a 5.2L flat plane crank V8 (Voodoo). It was different enough to warrant the 10K premium over the best 5.0 and was a serious track beast for an American pony car.

Now they offer another derivative of the Coyote in the 5.2L Supercharged (Predator) in the GT500 with a dual clutch automatic transmission.

I'm looking at the M3 CS and the M4 CSL... and for special editions...they seem kind of lazy. Am I missing something? Is this the way it usually goes? When I had a regular 5.0 (I purchased super early in the platforms life) I was pissed when I discovered they were doing the flat plane crank GT350. I considered selling or trading up for awhile before I just said screw it and put a blower on the Coyote.

I still had that car when the GT500s hit the scene and for awhile considered that car before changing my mind completely and looking at something German.

As I read this post... I'm seeing that there is a dealer asking for a 75K ADM on a car that is 99.999% the same as the non-special edition that is readily available at MSRP.

Was it like this for all of the F8X car variants?

If you have an established relationship with a dealer, it's probably easier to get something close to MSRP. If you're just emailing around randomly looking for an allocation, I'm sure most dealers are going to throw some crazy number at you. Most dealers have plenty of well knows customers they'd like to continue business with, that would love to get their hands on these rare special models.

Yes. F80 was basically the same (different hood, wheels, colors, interior scheme, & suspension/ engine software). This is par for the course with most European brands.

Your comparison is a little apples to oranges due to volume. Ford probably sold more GT350s than BMW will sell G80s (not all G8x but G80 specifically).

There isn’t enough volume to warrant more than a few tweaks for the special editions.

G80 CS is a nice car IMHO. If I wanted an AWD G80, I would probably want the CS. I’m enjoying my 6MT though so I wouldn’t trade for the CS.

i've been watching BaT and none of the g8x cars are meeting msrp. looks like the last one was a kith with a msrp of 122k but only bid to 101k. before that it was a 503 mile 2022 6 speed m4 that only bid to 10k less than msrp.

CSL auction still has 3 days left. current at 100k.

Somewhere, there's a guy or gal who built a business and has more money than all of us here combined, who is working on their M3 collection. Every M3 ever made, in every configuration, in every color, but no G80 CS yet. That person will pay the ADM, and few of us commoners will ever see the car. Fortunately, those collectors will eventually be sated, and perhaps in a year or two, you can pick up a CS at msrp or less.

Patience.

I am a BMW enthusiast and it is amazing to me how BMW has used the Porsche model to create hype for their cars. I would have loved to get a CSL, and am even more interested in the CS, but it is basically impossible to buy one, let alone spec one. I went through the same agony for a GT Porsche. It is not worth my time or money.

I also agree with other posters, patience may be a virtue and allow me to pick up one of these down the road with depreciation …..

I am not sure BMW is following the Porsche model
we are just in unusual time frame following a shock to the world, where dealers sensed that customers are willing to buy the hype and they know good times are ending so why not try and milk the last drop if possible
BMW said they will be producing these cars for a year and this whole BS about 1 allocation per dealer seem to be a fiction .I am willing to bet that dealers will get bunch of these cars within the next year

My dealer just called and offered the CS at 10k over sticker and I have 24hours to decide. Should I do it or not?
