Eureka! R44/MHC+ Rear Spoiler for MY24 G83s

I thought this deserved a separate thread . . . For those of you following our saga, there was some slight change in the MY24 G83's mechanism that caused the rear deck to hit R44's rear spoiler as the roof retracted. There were no issues prior to 24. But with MHC, they've revised the spoiler's profile and it now works with MY24 G83s. I think the tolerance is measured in microns, so careful placement is required. But with multiple test fits and a bunch of painter's tape, I got it right the first time.

I know that this spoiler may be too subtle for some, but it's exactly the look I wanted. Great job and hats off to both R44 and MHC.

I don't think it's on their site yet.

I had ordered carbon fiber side vents that were supposed to be in the same box, so I need to reach out them on that. I'll ask about availability of the spoiler then.

No hitting in either opening or closing? I noticed I'd only hit closing the top than opening the top, oddly enough.

Any tips for doing the alignment?

Also R44Zach any tips on availability?

Absolutely no hitting in either direction for me.

As I say, the tolerance is very small, and I used painters tape on both ends as well along the two long sides. You may be inclined to fit the spoiler a bit forward of the trunk lid, but it needs to be placed as far rearward (toward the back of the car) as possible. When I went to do the actual install (after several test fits), I started with the long side closest to the rear of the car and pivoted the spoiler down and towards the front of the car. Hopefully that makes sense.

I started dealing with Rhys at R44, who took over on the product side from Zach. I texted him Saturday and I'm sure he'll respond Monday. He's been amazingly responsive and great to work with.

I have to say, I'm incredibly happy with this product. It really finishes the back of car, which to my eye, was a bit flat and plain.

I'd love to buy but that shipping charge is insanity. Is there anywhere we can order this from a US-based distributor or perhaps some cheaper shipping?

Respectfully, you have not seen any cars with this spoiler. R44 redesigned/reprofiled the spoiler for MY24 G83s and I believe that I have the first, and at this point, only one. R44 confirmed fitment in-house and I re-confirmed fitment with my installation. They're just now manufacturing the new spoiler in quantities to fill orders and for stock.

That's kind of the point of this thread. This is a re-engineered version that won't hit on newer models. You should re-read the original post.

Got my spoiler in! Fit is perfect now, no hitting the panel on the way down or up.

Easiest method was using painters tape to map out the location with the panel open (stop the roof open process halfway), then mount after. But the spoiler ends up following the two body lines on either side of the trunk, so that made lining it up super simple.

Very happy with it now, thanks again to the guys at R44 for getting us vert owners solved!

A little OT, but I added R44’s matching MHC+ Side Fender Badge Covers. It’s a very subtle add that I like better than the full fender badge replacements. Less expensive and easy, stick-on install as well. To my eye, it provides a nice contrast with the gloss black part of the badge and hides the less attractive flat black part. And a call-out to R44Zach for their continued great service.
