This is probably a question for them, but will IND paint hoods too? I’d love if they did.

Almost a guarantee that if you just paint the hood, it will not match the rest of the car. The proper way is to blend the color into the 2 fenders, at the least, if not the bumper as well.

I purchased the Alpha N hood from IND-Distribution the one that is out there from other vendors is not dry carbon fiber. That is extremely important when it comes to quality.

My shop (Thompson Collision in PA) finished my hood and did a fabulous job color matching my mint green , if you purchase a hood from a diff vendor and the quality is not the same as the alpha/ IND hood, you may end up paying 1k to a body shop to make that hood 100%, just something to remember.

I appreciate the advice and the info.

Question for the hood: I’m not familiar with paint. Did they have to repaint other parts of your car to match and ensure the hood blended with the car or was it just the hood that needed to be painted?

I'm sure other shops might have to blend, but mine didn't. They were able to get a exact match. So to answer your question, no other parts were painted other than my hood. I've seen some hack jobs on other paint jobs, my shop does an amazing job with individual paints by BMW.

Wow. That’s nuts, especially with a color (a beautiful one I should add) like the one on yours.

I don’t know the work behind painting cars but that bodes well for me because I want this hood!

That's beautiful. The quality on the underside of the hood looks awesome.

Do you have a video with the hood closed? I'd like to see the color match.

Few photos of the Alpha-N on our Mint Green M4, we're just having a second one painted for our M3 Touring too, can't wait to see how that looks in the Skyscraper Grey.

You are mixing IND and Alpha together as if they are the same company.

If you want Alpha quality hood, you need to buy Alpha brand.

Where you get it from does not make a difference; it's the same hood. You still get the same part if you purchase it from IND, Extreme Power House, or any other vendor.

Hi, I thought I made it clear above in my post that I ordered the alpha hood. I just said I got it from IND. Sorry for the confusion.

How this hood is painted is precisely how I want to do mine. Thank you for the quality photos of the setup.

I would like to paint it black to match my car and then PPF with matte PPF to match my current PPF and keep the carbon inside the venting exposed similar to this, except with no blending within the channel running up to the windshield.

Now, mesh or not to mesh? lol

Mesh!

Exactly my thoughts on everything else. I want the same thing but in white - only I’ll be doing “glossy” PPF.

I just need to find a quality body shop/painting booth in my area to get the process get the process started.

I also need XPH or IND to put the hood on sale, so I can scoop it up.

Does the Labor Day sale code not work on the hood?

Edit to add, the sale code works. Go for it!

****!

You might have just sold me.

Is this about as good as it gets in regards to sales with IND or even XPH?

Should I hold for a Black Friday sale (assuming it’s still in stock)?

Discount will likely be the same on Black Friday.

Do it!
