I'd rather not put the bumper back on until I figure out what I'm doing with the PG grill. I only want to do this job X number of times. It's not difficult but I value my time lol

I'll likely be willing to part with mine once I get my aftermarket situation worked out. Where on the east coast are you located? Local pickup would be preferred over shipping but I'll see where I'm at once the M4 is back together.

I would have attempted to repair already with either of those materials but don't want to touch it until PG has an opportunity to respond. If they know/see it was tampered with in any way it gives them justification to deny any claim regardless of how cut and dry this defect is. It has been over 24 hours with no response which is adding to my frustration. Dispute will be opened with credit card company if no response by Friday/Saturday. I'd rather receive a refund or at least partial refund than try to pursue any type of exchange for a new product. The bumper tabs can only handle installation and removal of these grills X number of times before breaking. **Update 7/20** - PG responded and issued a refund of....drum roll, $100. I commend them for doing SOMETHING; however, I'm disappointed that their response indicates they know about the issue and have not implemented improvements in their design/manufacturing to resolve it. At a minimum, they should include a disclaimer to customers advising this is a known failure point and recommend alignment/reattachment with a stronger compound before installation. I quote, "We are sorry about the inconvenience you are having with the grills. This is how the parking sensors are glued on all of the grills. They sometimes need readjustment and re-gluing unfortunately. You can use superglue to reattach it and that is how customers usually do it to ensure that it won't happen again. We will refund a small portion of the grill for this inconvenience". $100 certainly would not cover labor had a body shop installed this. In any case, I've began reattaching the PDC sockets with a combination of Gorilla super glue gel for the initial alignment then follow up with Gorilla 2-part epoxy to fill gaps and add additional strength. This is the end result. I'm allowing for a >24 hour cure and will reinstall on the M4 Saturday. The passenger side socket is aligned very well. The driver's side points downward a bit due to the the carbon recess being uneven so this was as good as I could get it. Life goes on....

Yes, I updated my previous post above this one. I was not pleased with their response but they refunded $100 and told me to super glue it. Something is better than nothing, but my expectation as an engineering manager is that suppliers implement corrective actions for known issues in lieu of passing the problem onto the customer.

I need to do more research on which grilles have less problems than others. bhmax16, the grille looks amazing. Sorry for the problems though. Keep us updated. |

Free to a good home. I have the following OEM parts from a G82 M4 available for someone who needs them. The grill (minus the M4 Comp pieces) : All 4 corner splitters : The rear diffuser surround pieces (not the diffuser itself). All are pristine. You will have to pick them up at my house. I live in the metro area south of Miami.

$100? No way. They didn't even offer to replace the grill. I would have taken a grill vs any sort of monetary return.
I do agree that companies have to stand by their product. If it is faulty in any way, they should replace it but $100 is an insult. |
