The foam support is actually a two piece design. The outer foam needs to be trimmed. The way the abs grill is designed, it rests on the trimmed support hence the same effectiveness in case of a collision.

It seems to be that the ABS version sits deeper in compared to the CF version which was used as their stock photo when first released. Therefore, the ABS needs the foam support to be shaved to fit. I am surprised they dont make the CF and ABS the exact same.

I prefer the one-piece style of the ABS, personally. I also think it looks better a tad recessed but I also don't mind the look of the CF style.

It’s actually the easiest part to replace if ever you switch back. It’s a two piece design (foam support). Bmw sells the foam for 121$. I don’t consider trimming foam to be carving into a 100k car, but to each their own..

Now if only someone made gloss black side ducts lol I have the non-carbon pack mesh and while I like this grill, I feel it would look odd with the mesh on each side... but if I got CF side ducts with it, they would look a bit out of place since I have no other carbon on the car (besides the roof)... I'd at the very least have to get a CF rear diffuser.

Template to designate location of holes? We can use a hole saw. Any vendors plan on a simple template?

Paper Template? Vorsteiner needs to include a simple paper template. You got this on the front bumper of a Mustang to mount a tow hook from Ford. One simple paper template was included. You had to cut a strategic slot without messing up the bumper. One try, no problem.

Not a big deal. Expectations as the consumer.

Does anyone have the VRS style grill that could do me a huge favour and measure the openings? I'm waiting on mine but want to pre order some black mesh to put in and protect the rads a bit (country roads near me means stones fly up like crazy!)
