Isn't that an enamel one? Also had the chrome lines around the M half circles.

Still seems hit n miss or at least something is off.

The legacy 82mm 2pins no adhesive is 192. The number you posted is the wrong one they had on their site, but is corrected now.

The 194 which is also pictured from the back, apparently also has no adhesive. At least not on the pic shown, which shows 194.
Also BMW markings and date indicators also seem all over the place.

What the living shit?
He lost me when he took the badges out of the box and just sat everything on the hood. I don't touch my paint, unless it's with a wash mitt with soap on it, and my car is full PPF. I use the door handles to close the door, even. I don't just grab the door or window and slam the door shut.

I'll have to see what the difference is, but I remember there being two separate types of roundels. One was a "retrofit" and one was "OEM" or something like that. Which made me think that there were different types or styles.

The term RETROFIT was a head fake. All the 50th Anniversary Roundels are Retrofit, since we they weren't installed at the factory in 2022-23.

I am guessing 188/190/191/192/193/194 are all the same in terms of having 2 pins/no adhesive rear mounting.

The E36 E46 E9X roundels should all be the same PN, but Paddleshifters shows 192 and then 194. Some other photos are way off.

If you zoom way in to the 194 rear of the roundel photo, you will see the PN is actually both 193 and 194. So 193/194 are the same design/size roundel.

Cheers

So still a bit of hit n miss left.

I also noticed some badges have a different manufacturer logo and some say "Austria", whereas my 192 says "DE".

Szab told me yes, but the design and curvature are all identical between them.

Well I'm good with my 192.

Paddleshifterz updated the website with each PN from 188 to 199, plus 545. The front and rear mounting are shown in photos, so you can verify fitment. There are some errors from 192-193-194 etc. So we are getting there, but not yet. You can zoom in to confirm that the PN listed matches the PN in the rear photo. One important thing missing is the diameter is not provided 74mm, 82mm, or 95mm.

Cheers

The 199 rear 82mm roundel install on a 440i Grand Coupe is the same for a G82/83 M4 with backup camera.
Tip: Use fishing line and not a guitar pick to loosen all that rear adhesive.

I just figured out that BMW pulled a fast one. For G8X M3/M4s the hood roundel is 74mm and the trunk is 82mm for the G82/G83 M4 and 74mm for the G80 M3.
-5 HP.

That is backwards compared to what BMW has been doing for 20+ years (82mm/74mm - Hood/Trunk). HaHa.

The larger badge won't fit in between the grill openings, on the front bumper. The G82/83 also has the backup camera integrated into the rear badge in the United States, anyway. Apparently, in other countries where the backup camera isn't required, and you don't select the package, it's just a badge. The last picture, in black, is the G80 trunk badge. Smaller, no camera. The camera is under the trunk lip, like most cars.

Some BMW cars have a metal BMW roundel on the engine cover. It would be cool to upgrade it to the 50th Anniversary emblem. It seems to be a 70mm sized badge.

So you can install a 74mm trunk roundel (break off the pins, carefully) or maybe the new BMW M RR 1000 50th Anniversary Motorcycle roundels will fit. Size is exactly 70mm. Just need a part no.

The official BMW USA site is now listing the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels.

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/search/50-Years-M-Heritage

Interestingly, you can select a legacy BMW vehicle and it might give you the correct PN.

They don't provide the personalized services that our outstanding vendors on Bimmerpost provide. So use it as a last resort. Seems to be incomplete, so maybe wait a week or two.

In general, most US-based retailers selling the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels are getting them direct from BMW in Germany. So the wait is 10-14 days. That means ordering from UK and EU retailers might actually be faster, if they have them in stock or in a BMW Parts Warehouse nearby. It is clear that BMW is hoarding the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels both for ///M cars coming from thru the factory and as Retrofit OEM parts, since they are in limited supply. The 50th Anniversary Roundel OEM Parts might still be coming to US BMW warehouses in August, but I think we are still months away from wide scale availability in the US.

Cheers

Paddleshifterz came thru with my BMW 50th Anniversary Roundels.

I ordered five 50th Anniversary Roundels to compare rear fitment designs. The PN 192/194 roundels are exactly the same. The PN 195/196 roundels are the same (with different rear adhesive patterns). In each case, the pin separation distance is the same for 74mm and 82mm roundels. In some cases, different roundel PNs are flatter (188 adhesive only) or more domed (all the other PNs).

BMW F30 335i
51148087188 - 82mm (HOOD)
No Pins/Perimeter Adhesive Only - 3 Alignment Holes

BMW F30 335i
51148087196 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive

OR

BMW F30 335i
51148087195 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Perimeter Adhesive

BMW E9X M3
51148087192 - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/No Adhesive

OR

BMW E9X M3
51148087194 - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/No Adhesive

BMW E9X M3
51148087196 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive

OR

BMW E9X M3
51148087195 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Perimeter Adhesive

One experiment I am trying is to dry out or wipe off or remove the adhesive backing on PNs 195/196 (Trunk 74mm). That will make the roundels easily removable and swappable in the future. IND might provide custom painted 50th Anniversary Roundels in the future.

UPDATE: If you remove the adhesive backing paper, the adhesive will dry out. It isn't very sticky, like the ///M3 ///M4 emblems and 335i/340i/435i/440i emblems. But luckily the adhesive rolls off with your thumb easily, with no residue left behind. This means you can remove the adhesive and then attach the roundels with the 2 pins, making the roundels easily removable/ swappable in the future. Most E-Platform BMW models never used an adhesive on the roundels to begin with. Most F-Platform BMW models added adhesives along with the two pins, maybe because of roundel thefts in big cities. WARNING: Some of the beefier roundels like the G82 M4 emblem with the camera hole and huge black bezel should leave the adhesive in place to ensure it stays in place.

NOTE: No grommets are provided. If you have an older E/F Platform BMW, then get fresh grommets.

Pro Tip: They include some yummy Haribo Gummy Bears (German not Japanese) in the box. That triggers US Customs and the Dept. of Agriculture to hold your package for inspection, since it is food. So it is in US Customs for an extra 3-4 days to open the box. So ask to remove the Haribo candy before shipment.

Too HOT in LA (105-110F) to install the roundels until Saturday. I already installed the aftermarket 50th Anniversary wheel center caps and steering wheel emblem.

A full set of aftermarket 50th Anniversary roundels is on Amazon for only $30. You will need 68mm wheel center caps that fit older BMWs with 120mm x 5 bolt patterns. Newer BMWs have a 112mm x 5 bolt pattern, and BMW makes OEM 50th Anniversary wheel center caps for those models.

Mega Pro-Tip: Because the 50th Anniversary Roundels might only be available from BMW for a few years, get an extra set if you plan to keep your BMW for 7+ years or plan to buy more BMW ///M cars in the future. HaHa If you want a 2030 ///M4 H82, you won't get the 50th Anniversary Roundels installed at the factory. Predicting the roundel and wheel center cap sizes for a future BMW ///M car purchase will be quite the magic trick. I wanted to get an OEM BMW E9X M3 carbon fiber interior for my BMW E90 M3 and the cool M-Power E-Brake Handle, but after 8-10 years they were no longer available thru IND/BMW. Lesson Learned. I might get a F97 or G97 X3M Comp in a few years, if Porsche keeps wrecking the Macan product line (Audi Engines!!!). So I would order BMW X3M roundels this year. #BackToTheFuture Look for a Black Friday Sale, because the wheel center caps are $150-200. Same for the aftermarket BMW 50th Anniversary roundel 7-piece set on Amazon (only $30).

Cheers

That's a very detailed information for the E/F chassis brothers.
Thanks for the contribution.
Good tip on that gummy bears! I didn't know that was the one causing customs clearance delay lol.

Of course, BMW Parts Pros shipped my order of 50th Anniversary Roundels 2 days later after a 6 week wait. It is a mystery box, and they don't tell you the PNs used for your fitment. They include the grommets. BRIT is the BEST.

I received a delivery from Sweetwater (musical instruments) this week too. They include a pack of candy as well. They only thing better than instant gratification is adding candy to the box.

Mystery Box Contents:

BMW F30 335i - Perfect
51148087188 - 82mm (HOOD)
No Pins/Perimeter Adhesive Only - 3 Alignment Holes

OR

BMW F30 335i - BETTER MATCH (2 Alignment Studs on the Hood and more Adhesive Surface Area)
51148087189 - 82mm (HOOD)
No Pins/Adhesive Only - 2 Alignment Holes

BMW F30 335i - Perfect
51148087196 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive

AND

BMW E9X M3 - Incorrect PN
51148087193** - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/Adhesive

BMW E9X M3 - Correct PNs
51148087192/194 - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/No Adhesive

BMW E9X M3 - Perfect
51148087196 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive

** NOTE: I might buy a BMW F97/G97 X3M Comp, which uses 50th Anniversary roundel PNs 193/194. #WINNING

Grommets included
Grommet 2 51141807495 (Black - HOOD)
Grommet 2 51148209932 (Translucent - TRUNK)

NOTE: The shorter black grommet is not sealed on the end, but the longer translucent grommet is sealed. BMW #$^$#^*#??

Cheers

Wonder about that myhstery box, as the PN is right there on the back of the roundel.

I ordered two more from my local dealer now that I know the correct one for the old E models, in case they do turn out to be limited to this year only.

The BMW Dealer would not say what PNs they were shipping. I only gave them the BMW models and VIN. They were mostly correct.

If you know the PNs for your BMW Model, order based on the PNs and not sets that don't specify the PNs.
