I only see them in stock for the M3 at IND. And, as of right now, the center caps are SOLD OUT. The M4 has a different rear trunk badge. Its larger, and houses the backup camera.

I would only be interested in a hood roundel, no need to plaster them all over the car. Besides, no way BMW is going to make these in E36 cabrio smaller trunk size, 58mm.

I checked the Paddleshifterz site in Germany and the oldest BMW models are the E46 and E39. So the current PNs won't fit an E36 from the late 1990s. There might be other new PNs coming out, but I doubt it.

I did see that there were very nice all metal standard BMW Roundels, so you might look at those to see if any fit an E36.

Otherwise, you will have to look at aftermarket Classic M Roundels on eBay. The one nice thing is that those designs have more variety with dark colors replacing the white, and chrome highlights around all the tri-color shapes. You will also be able to get a full set for the hood/trunk, and wheel center caps, plus the steering wheel. Avoid stickers.

Cheers

If it fits the E46 it sure will fit the E36.

Here's is the cross-reference table for the roundel. Fits so many models.

http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/51148132375/

Now need to check the PN for that E46 50th roundel.

We are offering the heritage roundels based off of direct replacement compatibility when compared to the OEM standard style roundels. Although outside diameter may be similar, some roundels have different profiles and mounting styles. To ensure that the roundels fit exactly how BMW intends, we are only offering the direct replacements.

For instance, the E92 & E93 chassis' have roundels that are only utilized on each chassis respectively. Different even between coupe and convertible. With that said, we do not foresee the proper heritage roundels being offered by BMW for the E92 & E93. The profile is drastically different than anything on a production BMW today.

On the other hand, select E36, E46, and F8x models will have OEM Heritage models available from what we can see; just not center caps. We will have them listed on our website once they are imported and confirmed to match!

We have handled a few (thousand) roundels before...

This part number provided appears to be for the trunk of the G02/F98 X4/X4M; different than the front bumper of the F8x M2/M3/M4.

Tracking these PNs for the E9X M3 and F3X M-Sport, with 2 pins at 9 and 3 o'clock with adhesive, which is wrong compared to the original BMW roundels.

51-14-8-087-196 (Trunk 74mm)
51-14-8-087-189 (Hood 82mm)

We will need a decoder ring to match new 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels PNs for both 82 mm and 74 mm emblems with older fitment methods for E/F-Platforms. @&^#$#%
- 2 pins/no adhesive
- adhesive/no pins
- 2 pins/adhesive

In looking at some products on various websites, they are mixing up the Hood and Trunk Emblem PNs. That is why I am waiting for the BMW Parts databases to be updated with the proper Fitments on the big BMW websites. There are over 12-13 PNs for the 50th Anniversary roundels, so I am happy my emblems just have two pins with grommets, and no adhesive for the E9X M3 and a mixed bag for the F30 335i (hood is adhesive only and trunk is two pins only).

I am sure BMW will drive us nuts with the wheel center caps for older BMW E/F-Platform ///M Cars, just because they can.
UPDATE: No wheel center caps for older E/F-Platform cars will be released. No floating wheel center caps for E/F/G-Platforms were developed.

Cheers

Our friends at Studie AG in Japan are way out in front on the hunt for 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels. These links show successful installs on older BMW E/F Platforms in a variety of models and in different exterior paint colors.

https://www.studie.jp/endo/126394/

https://www.studie.jp/harada/125462/

https://bmwwonderland.com/collections/all (Studie AGs BMW Parts Store)

Now the bad news. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels are only being released for newer BMW F/G-Platforms. But many are backwards compatible with older BMW E/F-Platform models for the hood/trunk.

Don't expect 50th Anniversary Classic M wheel center caps for older BMW E/F-Platforms with 5 x 120mm bolt patterns. No floating wheel center caps either, even for newer F/G-Platforms. So if you don't want roundel mismatches between the hood/trunk and wheel center caps, go custom roundels.

So fitment information for older BMW E/F-Platforms won't be available on websites like ECS Tuning, Turner Motorsports, FCP Euro, Pelican Parts, and Get BMW Parts. GetBMWParts and ECS Tuning are listing some of the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel PNs, but with no fitment information.

Luckily, vendors like IND, BMW Parts Pros, Paddleshifterz, etc. will perform manual fitment verification, so you can match up your older BMW E/F-Platform models to the newest 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel PNs. But you won't be able to get matching center wheel caps...Go custom or aftermarket BMW roundels.

In general, you will be able to find 50th Anniversary Classic M 2 pin roundels, and adhesive/no pin roundels, and 2 pin+adhesive roundels. Just don't count on the mounting being exactly the same between your current BMW roundels and the new 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels. So use fishing line to check to see if your current roundel is adhered with an adhesive before removing it and wrecking your paint (use masking tape). Some adhesive-only roundels have 2-3 alignment holes to center your emblem, so it is straight and level.

Also, some BMW vendors will just ship an adhesive/2 pin 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel hood/trunk set, since there is limited stock from BMW. So you might have to break the pins off. You can avoid this by being patient and waiting a few weeks until more photos appear online that show the back of each roundel, and associated part nos., like the Paddleshifterz YT video.

Example Fitment:
- E9X M3s should have front/rear roundels with 2 pins and no adhesive for both the hood/trunk. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Retrofit Roundel you purchase should be available with 2 pins with no adhesive or 2 pins/adhesive.

- F3X 328i/330i's and 335i/340i's and 4-Series cars should have front/rear roundels with adhesive/no pins on the hood and 2 pins with no adhesive for the trunk. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Retrofit Roundel you purchase should be available with adhesive/no pins or 2 pins/adhesive or 2 pins/no adhesive.

BMW Farfegnugen reaches a new low again. #@$%&#@

How could BMW screw up roundels?

Cheers

Paddleshifterz also seems clueless. Listing one badge compatible for E46 and E39 (which also means E36 and lots of other models) yet when I sent an email, I get quoted a different part number.

Actually two. From what I could make out, both 2 pin, but one with, one without adhesive.

E46 and E39 never had adhesive so I would assume that if you order it for that model (he even asked for VIN to check) that you get the one that is the most similar to that specific model.

So now finger's crossed for what I'm about to receive.

I just want the hood roundel. If I wanted everythin matching, I would have gone aftermarket years ago.

Older E model hood roundel should be 51148087194. That's 82mm, 2 pins (3 and 9 o'clock) and no adhesive.

Our friends at Paddleshifterz in Germany are working on a new comprehensive video of all of the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels with PNs and Fitment info. Estimate 1-2 weeks before it is posted on YouTube.

BMW E/F-Platform Fitment is based on the design of the rear of the roundel. BMW won't provide that Fitment info for legacy BMWs, so fitmen checks are being done manually.

Stay tuned...

50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels were supposed to be available in North American a few months ago. Due to supply chain issues and BMW hoarding them, expect delays into the summer/fall 2022.

The other issue is fitment to older BMW Platforms. We expect Paddleshifterz to do some good work on this in a week or two.

IND is importing them from Europe, with limited supply. Hoping for a custom painted option from IND. The white in the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels doesn't look great on all exterior paint colors.

BMW Parts Pros, ECS Tuning, and Get BMW Parts has them listed for preorder, with no fitment info.

I talked to Szab as there was some confusion, but he explained the part number on the pages had to be changed as it was still a WIP.

Anyways, I now have my E36 roundel, and it's identical to the original roundel.
Since it lists compatibility with E39 and E46, it might as well say E36 as well, as these 3 models (plus many more) all share the same mounting system BMW has used the past 30 years or so.
So that's 82mm, 2 pins, no adhesive. Can't wait to fit to my AW M3.

Great news. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels are perfect on Alpine White.

What was the PN for the 82mm 2 pins no adhesive roundel?

That will be the PN most drivers will need to buy for the hood on most E- Platform BMW ///M cars

The 192 is the one for the older E models.

Here's mine fitted to my EU spec E36 M3.

Now that it's not some Ali Express item, but OEM BMW, it's cool.

Looks like the parts databases at BMWPartsPros and ECSTuning have the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels listed with modern Fitment info. Some items ship in 1-8 days. Search the first 8 digits of the BMW PNs that are the same 51148087

Paddleshifterz have the modern and legacy Fitment via a drop down with PNs. Video coming soon.

Don't be surprised if several PNs all look the same in terms of rear mounting.
51148087188/192/194 all seem to be 2 pin/no adhesive 82mm Hood Roundels.

Paddleshifters told me 194 is with adhesive, but who knows.

It's kind of weird that different pn's exists for same style. There ought to be some differences.

Looks like BMW Parts Pros (Ventura County, CA) is beginning to ship their pre-orders of the 50th Anniversary Classic ///M Roundels as of last week July 14th 2022. On the website you can order and Add to Cart, without the pre-order notices.

That means the 50th Anniversary Classic ///M Roundels are hitting BMW Warehouses in the US and Canada. So ECS Tuning/Turner Motorsports, Get BMW Parts, and FCP Euro will begin shipping soon. There is a huge BMW parts warehouse in New Jersey on the East Coast near the BMW USA HQ.

These UK and German BMW sites are upgrading their pages to include nice photos of the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels to show the rear mounting detail and the box with PNs.

https://www.apmotorsport.co.uk/bmw

https://paddleshifterz.com/product-t...v=7516fd43adaa

For legacy BMW E/F Platforms there are five key 82mm HOOD Roundel PNs

51148087188 - 82mm (HOOD)
No Pins/Adhesive Only around the rear perimeter/3 Alignment Holes (ex. F3X)

51148087189 - 82mm (HOOD)
No Pins/Adhesive Only over the entire rear surface/2 Alignment Holes (ex. F3X)

51148087191 - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/Adhesive around the rear perimeter

51148087192 - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/No Adhesive (ex. E9X)

51148087193 and 51148087194 are the same - 82mm (HOOD)
2 Pins/No Adhesive (ex. E9X)

For legacy BMW E/F Platforms there are two key 74mm TRUNK Roundel PNs
Most standard BMW Trunk 74mm roundels just use 2 pins/no Adhesive, but there is no equivalent 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel 74mm PNs with only 2 pins. Try removing the adhesive strip with an exacto knife or plastic razor (to make them easy on/off).

51148087195 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive around the perimeter (ex. F3X/E9X)

51148087196 - 74mm (TRUNK)
2 Pins/Adhesive over the entire rear surface (ex. F3X/E9X)

It is important to understand that most older BMW E/F-Platform roundels use 2 pins/no adhesive, so it is easy to remove them if you need to repaint a panel, or install different sets depending on the occasion. Once you introduce an adhesive, you have to reinstall them with double-sided tape, after removing the messy old adhesive.

If you see yellow backing paper on a roundel that means there is a thin ring of adhesive around the outer perimeter along with two mounting pins. In other cases, there is a large white adhesive that covers the entire rear surface with a clear green tab, with and without 2 mounting pins. Some 2 pin roundels are not round, but have arrow shaped pins.

I think newer BMW Roundels use adhesives due to these items being stolen off cars in high crime areas. Of course, BMW wheel center caps are easily pinched.

50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels have been hitting US BMW warehouses since the week of July 11th, and are now more available from your favorite online BMW Parts Retailers. You just have to hunt for Fitment information, especially for legacy BMW E/F platform.

Cheers
