Build Week 48 Discussion

Haven't seen anyone else post a build week 48 so I figured I'd start a thread. I was originally build week 40, then delayed to 41, then 42, and now Genius states week 48. Anyone else that far back with me?

My build week was 37 to 43 now to 48. this is an annoying process maybe its because of the individual color plus the shortage of parts

Hi fellow waiters. From 35 to 40, then to 48 confirmed yesterday...even if i'm still in 111 status.... finger crossed.

Expected delivery is week 52 here in Italy...so right at the end of the year. I hope to have a Christmas gift after waiting nearly one year to have it, as I've placed the deposit at the end of january, and confirmed at the beginning of june when they opened the official sales for the G80 Xdrive. It's such a long wait.....but I think it's worth it.

So I'm joining the week 48 build thread hoping it is the last one to join

I was told week 48 when I ordered the car at the beginning of the month. I was in 102 status last week, so we'll see

I'm patiently waiting for an allocation for my individual G80. I see you have an LSB M4 - love that colour and wish we could get it on the G8x. What colour are you going for?

Wow, so you ordered at the beginning of October and it should be built in week 48? Or did you order at the beginning of September? I ordered on October 2nd and as far as I know I don't really have a confirmed build week yet. My salesman told me that it would be somewhere in January, but then he said they still had some quota left for December. I'm in Belgium by the way!

I ordered it the first week of October. That was the requested/submitted production date to the factory when the order got put in. I don't know if it's just a Germany thing, but the order was sent to the factory the same day with my individual color request. I personally think it'll take longer, but never hurts to be hopeful

As a point of reference, I ordered my M2C on Jan 28th and it was at my dealer by April 9th. 72 days from ordering to ready for pick up.

Okay nice! Mine is an individual color as well (San Marino Blue), and we ordered right around the same time! I'm curious to see how far apart in time our cars will be delivered!

That's a good question! Guess we can keep tabs together. Have you already gotten your order number?

I wish they would just let me pick up from the factory. I'm only about an hour away from it

I ordered it on October 2nd, and on October 5th my salesman sent me a picture with my order number. He texted me today saying that my order went from status 102 to 111 and that the assigned build week is week 49! Is yours also at status 111?

Any ideas as to why they won't offer factory delivery?

Nice! Congrats! My salesman is on vacation till Friday, so I'll hit him up then and see if I can get an update. Hopefully, I'm either in 48 or 49. I know they used to do BMW Welt delivery in Munich, but stopped doing that because of covid.

Yeah I figured that would be the logical explanation why they stopped doing it, such a shame though!

And nice, I'm curious to know what status you are at!

I ordered twilight purple on kyalami orange interior with the black 826m wheels and carbon ceramics. I believe you can order LSB for the G8X but it just has to get approved by bmw.

Genius and then confirmed by SA. When I called bmw genius last week they hinted at it but confirmed the week 48 assignment today.

Has anyone switched over to production begins?

I have also orders an X7 for my wife which was also week 46 (old week for my M3) and it’s been in production begins status for about 8 days- scheduled completion is 11/16.

Week 48 here too! Put on a list on October and was spot #2. A week later the dealer got an allocation. Guy in #1 skipped because he said it was too early. Got a production number and put in my build on 10/25/21. Called genius and they stated week 48 with no delays as of now.
