Any mods? Spacers/springs?
Does it happen when turning or going straight? How much throttle?
Maybe leave the phone in the trunk while recording.

I took it in, they were unable to diagnose it. I switched dealers because that seems ridiculous. Clearly something is off.

You can request to go out with the technician and have them confirm the noise. If you just leave it to them, they may not be able to replicate at that exact time they perform the test drive.

Update for everyone: it was the rear differential & the BMW dealership I bought it from put the wrong fluid in, now the entire rear differential needs to be replace under warranty.

No idea how long this is going to take but I almost want them to buy the car back.

Ohh crap that sucks but at least you’re covered. Another poster had the dealer **forget** to put fluid back in !!!!

I think the lesson here is— get to know the tech that is going to work on your car!

In addition, I will add that the techs at Dreyer & Reinbold (Indianapolis) that I work with are on top of this stuff.

Wow. How the heck does this happen. Glad it’s under warranty.

How many miles have you driven on the car since you got it?

I wonder what they put in there that made it fail after 1500 miles, its a shame bmw doesn't have any checks in place for these kind of simple repairs.

At this point.. the car feels tainted, it also arrived with superficial scuffs and bumper damage that BMW Miami failed to mention during my sight unseen purchase.

Would BMW North America buy the car back at this point? Any thoughts on this?

You can try. I had a paint spot the size of a pencil tip on my Porsche that I discovered a month after delivery and they cut me a sizable check as a make good rather than buying it back.
