I would be 100% in for the touring. I sold my M2 due to limited utility. I would forgive the stupid grill if they offered the M3 Touring in the states. The only reason I am not going for the RS6 is the price is too high for me. A M3 Touring would likely be perfect in terms of performance, utility, and price. I have zero interest in the hopped up crossovers.

I'd get this to replace my F36 (Which I otherwise intend to drive into the ground). Why?
- 3 kids. - Already own a family hauler (Q7) and no intention of owning 2 SUV's so X3 etc not an option. RS6/E63 are too big/too expensive and not as chuckable. - Prefer the hatch (Got the F36 over the F30 for this reason.) - Available with x-drive which is a must have for me. - Lastly, Q-car (especially debadged). |

If Bmw can find reasons and resources to build a sedan, coupe, gran coupe and a GT in the same 3/4 series platform... then adding a wagon can't be that onerous!

Problem is the GTs far outsold the wagons in the US. I remember Scott26 saying that the 7 year old X3 and X1s were outselling the F31 by a lot, and the "maligned" 3GT outsold it as well. He said the X2 is a replacement for the 3er wagon and I'm sure that is outselling the wagon by leaps and bounds. I think the disparity was even greater between the 5GT and the E61 when it was sold in the US. So in the US, it's not just wagon vs GT, it's wagon vs whatever SUV BMW spits out to be a wagon replacement. I think BMW is done selling GTs, and those outsold wagons... so not looking good for wagons in the states.

What's the actual number of station wagons sold in the USA as percentage of total cars? Under 1%? Not into wagons would love to see an M3 Touring for those who like them.

I wonder whether those costs are waived for very low production numbers (as the G81 would have in the US), but I don't know that. |

Signed. But the petition should read "North American Market". Canadians want this car too!

Lol I think they should at least make it a limited run model, but the downside is that they will have to spend money on crash safety testing.

Looks wise I am assuming G81>G80>G82>G83. As much as I would like to say I would definitely get the G81 over the G80, the advantage of the G81 will likely be practicality and hence only come in AWD and 8AT. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=197
If this is the case, I would probably lean more towards the G80 in RWD 6MT or maybe even the G82 and turn it into a track rat as with that face I will be less upset about putting it into a wall |
