Is it closer to Porsche's Oslo Blue?

Had the chance to park my G82 Violet Blue car next to E46 LSB. Unfortunately, IPhone pics do not capture very well the green/teal tone from LSB…
A E92 Santorini was there as well (no pics unfortunately) and clearly closer to a 'pure' blue than both mine and LSB. (Note: M2 Estoril is in far back) |

I have been asked to post more pics.. might as well share some thoughts after first 6mo and 5K KM of ownership!
The car has been a joy to drive. This is my weekend car with occasional track days. No regrets with my specs (carbon, buckets, premium pack, 826M w/ cup2 tires). Getting in and out is not easy but once in it, bucket seats are excellent… and they look great! Although last summer I did not track it as much as planned, the cup 2 tires and standard breaks (non CCB) proved to be great for dual use. I have had aftermarket pads for my previous E92, F82C as OEM pads could not manage heat well on the track. Some squeal noise but less than what I experienced w/ aftermarket pads (PF08, RSL29). Not an issue for me. It is a big car but I am not complaining, I should have picked a M2 otherwise. It is actually perfect for a weekend getaway for our family of four (no backseat complaints for my 2 teenagers - sure be different in a 911). The shifts are a bit lazy under heavy load/ high RPM. On a track, it shows, up or down. Probably biggest disappointment for a M car considering others in same category offers DCT. But who can blame the difference in shifting speed between auto vs. DTC for not achieving record lap time… maybe that is why I am not a pro driver. It is fine otherwise for normal/daily drive. I went for individual Color and picked a blue color solely based in BMW visualizer. Violet Blue (P6F) worked out well, very pleased with outcome. Kind of unique, yet not too bold/flashy. That's just me. No regrets really. Car is now hibernating…. A few pics to go through winter months. |

I pick this up tomorrow, 11 months from placing the order. Joining the Violet Blue family with the M3.

Been considering Violet Blue or Santorini Blue. Leaning towards Violet Blue as it’s not as bright.
