Wipers
Anyone experience wipers randomly coming on while driving without turning them on? Probably happens to me once a week these days.

Make sure the windshield is clean where the sensors are located that tends to be the usual culprit.
Outside of that I’ve had it happen in the past due to sun glare as well. Have had it occur on more than one vehicle and not just BMWs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah that shouldn’t be happening. You absolutely sure you don’t have the setting set? You may want to report that to your dealer to notate your account. Maybe it’s a touch stalk or something else. If it’s ID8, it could be a software bug, but I’d wager others would have run into it by now.
FYI, someone in the X forum who had this has their dealer scan the car and had soft codes stored which pointed them to change out the steering column section with the stalks… this fixed the issue, supposedly. |

Definitely shouldn’t happen if they are in the off position. Could be an electrical short if that is the case.

Thanks all - will definitely get it checked out at the next service - was just curious if any other Owners here had experienced this little Gremlin!

Happened to me again yesterday - they go just once but then they stop with the wipers right in the middle of the windshield - I then have to turn them on to get them back into the retracted position.
