Wow, that was a long session! Must not have had many groups that day?
I'm a fan of orgs that put an instructor in with the beginner group - a lot of them could have been reminded to check their mirrors. That might not have been possible with COVID restrictions, though. All in all, looked like a fun time! |

I wonder if they are like the cars I had a chance to drive at COTA. I was dating a girl who lived in Austin, TX and she had connections. They let me drive one and I loved it. |

Corrected the small mistake, M driver's package is speed limit removal and a day at PCD if I am right.

You’re right I think lol I remember thinking that the speed limit thing will be taken care of by the after market after awhile, besides road America is probably the only track near me that I could possibly reach 155 closest I got was 150

So you drove like a madman in circles for 30 min at speeds reaching 150 mph only to end up in the same spot you started?? That’s a lot of carbon footprint to go nowhere so fast 🤷🏻

I'm sure that @PawnStar was kidding. If not, I know a nice Tesla forum that he can go hang out at. Or maybe a Prius?
Anyway... nice job there OP, thanks for sharing. I drove RA with the BMW club more than 20 years ago, and had a blast. It was in October, so it was my first track event where we actually got snowed on! I'm a Southern Boy...

One thing that stuck out to me was how long you were out there.
You drove almost 27 mins straight in your session. After warm up laps, I typically lap 10 mins, come off for 5-7 mins then go back on for another 10.

Does it feel like the chassis can install an extra 100hp via a tune and remain as composed?

Saturday I was out with my novice student, and we had a debris flag so I quizzed him on that. He didn't know. I said, "well, that means that there's something on the track, oil or car parts, so be careful." Our next lap, the flag is still out and he fishtails a bit on the turn. "OMG," I said, "that's ice!" We had a bridge dripping water on the track, and it froze. On the last session of the day, it started to flurry. They brought us in early. The next day, the track was clear but all of the brake markers on the main straight were covered over. That threw me for a loop for the first few laps. It took me 2 1/2 days to tow my rig up there and another 2.5 back, and I got a flat in KY on the truck, but otherwise I had a great time and really enjoyed the track despite high temps in the 30s. And the bratwurst.

Hugely impressive considering OEM brake pads.

Badger Bimmers is a great group and runs something they call OctoberFast. Should be scheduled the first weekend of October.
Google them. They are also on MotorSports Reg.

Nice will look into them, and also for the guys curious about the length of the drive keep in mind Road America has pretty long straights between the heaviest of braking zones like turn 1, 5 and Canada corner so you are working the brakes but usually they have some time to cool
