Just tune yours. If you unlock, you could technically run whatever map you want, even the stock new LCI or one of the CSL ones, if you strictly wanted a BMW stock calibration and nothing else from a concrete safe point let’s say.

If its just because of 20 HP then the answer is no with no doubt BUT the difference is more than that.
The new bott flat steering wheel, new taillights and headlights, and a year newer model all in one + you can get a 2025 model in 2024 (now) and in 3 years (2027) you have a car with 2 years behind and get some equities…
Oh and you will get a brand new car with possibly new color combo (if it is)
So it’s all about how you feel….

I have had my M3XC for 2.5 years. Not once have I thought " Boy this car could really use more horsepower ".
According to Steve Dinan, who would need to know, the stock M3 Competition actually makes 591hp and 575lb ft out of the wrapper.
I know lots of people here like to tune their cars for even more, but I don't see the need, or even the want.
Your results may vary.

Are you telling me the stock 3L I6 S58 is producing more torque than stock 4.4L V8 S63?
I don’t think so!
Even the ZF8 tranny on G8x is not rated to that much torque (780 Nm)

I'm not telling you that. Steve Dinan is in the most recent Car and Driver.
No need for exclamation marks.
I don't tune BMW's for a living, so I have nothing to gain (or lose).

Dinans statement is based on dyno numbers, but the s63 probably makes 600whp on the dyno so no our engine doesn't make more power than the v8.

No, not for the power.

Maybe if longer term resale was important to you but after 5 months you'll take an even bigger hit for switching than you would when you sell it in the future.

Keep your car.

There will always be a faster car with more HP. At some point you gotta just stick with what you've got for awhile.

Plus, $10K gets you some real upgrades: E-venturi intake, single midpipes, maybe catted downpipes (all that will add more than 20 HP most likely, and improve the sound). Plus when the warranty expires you can throw on a tune...

No way the S58 G80/82 is putting down 591hp (crank) stock. at 15% drivetrain loss on the dyno that puts the G8x vehicles at 503whp.

Most of those cars dyno in the 470-485 WHP range.
