Recently took delivery of a 2024 G80 with idrive 8. Got Bimmercode for the first time (had E90 335 and G82 previously but never tried Binmercode). I’ve done most all of the standard coding options, but now want to try expert mode for the anti-dazzle (I know it won’t be fully functional without Esys coding as well, but want to try just the Bimmercode option first). I don’t want to mess it up, so I’m hoping someone can confirm the correct coding for iDrive 8 with the latest OTA update already installed.
TIA! |

Antidazzle / ROW Coding activated on Friday. Have two nighttime drives in pretty well lit subburbs however the result is impressive. It shocks me how often the high beams indicator shows as active. Basically the only time it's off it if there are a LOT of cars or if I'm in an area with a lot of streetlights. Otherwise it's on, and doing SOMETHING. Sometimes it's something small, like illuminating a sign. Other times it's doing the full light tunnel thing.
Not a single person has flashed me and I've driven against a TON of traffic. I debated the worth of this since I rarely use my high beams given that I live in a heavily populated suburb. But it's so cool and genuinely does imrpove things, sometimes marginally occaionally for me majorly. In less populated areas this would be a complete game changer. US is freaking asinine for not allowing this due to dumb regulations. They want to reduce deaths but can't allow these to be activated? STUPID. SOOOOO STUPID. Love this. Totally worth the money. |

1) Using E-Sys/BimmerUtility can the current car config be backed up for future restoration?
2) Can someone point me to the confirmed instructions for the coding using E-Sys and BimmerUtility? |

Yes, you can backup the coding files using either esys or bimmerutility.

The more time I have with these lights the more I like them. Driving last night I was in some pretty serious volume (4 lane road, cars approaching, cars in front and behind). Yet the active beams came on and were filling in the gaps between cars to light up the shoulder and signs. So dope.

I coded this in about a month ago and there was no change to the lights. I went back through the coding sequence a couple weeks ago and found I missed one thing. So I corrected the coding and still nothing last week. And Auto was activated. The high beams would come on when there were no cars around. Then switch off as soon as there was a car.
I was driving to work this morning thinking I need to go through it one more time and then the dang thing started working out of nowhere. Even on the freeway with lots of traffic the high beam would switch on and I could see the high beam moving around cars and lighting up the slow lane and shoulder. Anyone know why there would be a, lets say 100 mile, delay in activating? |

I had this remotely done on my 24’ M3 with lasers and can’t really notice a difference. It was a big difference on my 16’ M4 and really noticeable on my wife’s Q8 with matrix LED’s. I had it done before my 1200 mile break in and maybe the flashed it back to OEM. I’m having coding guy take another look to make sure it’s still coded.

I guess I need to read more about Anti dazzle as I keep hearing the term and see what needs to be changed in BimmerCode to get 95% “there” but still not sure where “there” is 😂 I’ll do some Googling but since I typically don’t drive at night not sure I will get any use out of it, whatever “it” is. 😉
