Had the wheels ceramic coated. This combined with the iSweep2000 pads should make detailing much, much easier.

How many of the 'discs' did you end up using? I think the BMS comes with 5 and I'm reading that 3 is good enough?

Finally got the SST controller in from mike@x-ph.com. Took around 45 mins to install. Had to lift up driver rear side to make it easier to get to wires. Did end up losing the driver grommet in the blank black box but passenger one was saved. Used electrical tape to seal the open side for now and will check to see if SA can get me one or I might just get a generic one from Lowes and make it work.

Programmed A (Open) and C (Stock) to homelike. Might change C to B (Closed) in future. Worked well on my quick 10min drive.

Still waiting on SST controller from mike@x-ph.com. I did however order 2 BMW Blind Plugs (35mm) based on people dropping them into the black abyss.

Thanks! Any pics in the daylight from the side? Looks great! I'm waffling if 35% is too light with a 70% windshield. I'm used to 15% and 20% tint on my cars.

Looks like you did the same mistake I did and lost the grommet in the abyss. I used duct tape to seal the opening but saw the replacement grommet posted above and will order them. Its easier to reinstall it if you flit the grommet and push the smaller opening into the wheel well side.

Yea If my local dealership doesn't have it during my breakin service Tuesday, I'll order it from the post above.

Reinstall was def straight forward since I had the grommet cut to fit the wires.

Had full anti-dazzle and CS software installed this morning, early impressions are loving it especially the CS transmission tune. So much sharper.

I only read bad things about the BMS and the G80. It’s not the discs on the BMS that are the problem, but rather the actual “screw” that the piece has to fit into the install point. You have to cut that down to get it to even fit

However, the ebay one from pickeater1234 does not require the screw to be modified. Given the travel and engagement point of these clutches, I would see absolutely no need to remove any of the discs and feel like that would defeat the purpose of the part

Even at “full discs” the stopping point is still inches past the engagement point.

You are correct that the BMS needs to be modified for G8x cars, but it's one snip with good scissors to remove half the length and just pull of some of the discs to 2 or 3 discs. If someone doesn't want to buy from eBay, they'll be well-served by the BMS. The "issues" aren't a big deal.

I don’t see the point of buying something that doesn’t work in the form received. I hate the idea of having to cut something up for it to fit, but it sounds like that’s no bother to you. Also have seen complaints of issues with shifting/rev matching with the BMS. I am in no way advertising for the ebay part, people are free to buy whatever they want

I installed the bms without issues. Just requires a little force and pushing down at the right angle

Picked up some lightly used merino leather knee pads for my ‘24 M3. Super easy install and feels so much better than the fake leather. Slowly but surely “re-contenting” my car to what it should have been before the bean counters at BMW stepped in.

When I get back out to the Bay Area, you can see them. luckily, they’ll be on every 2025 G22-82, making everyone jealous.
