2025 g8x LCI, are you waiting?
Who’s waiting to purchase the LCI?
I called my local dealership to see what their waitlist looks like, the sales person I always deal with said they have 3 people already on the waitlist for allocations. I guess people are giving up current allocations and waiting. That’s why more allocations came up free for the current ‘24 model. |

I am. I gave up my 2024 allocation a couple of weeks ago.

Ive just done exactly the same! My 2024 was due May, so I figured might as well wait a little longer for the LCI. If my order was due sooner I probably wouldn’t have cancelled though
I figure I’ll have the car for 3 years so might as well wait an extra couple of months to have the current model. Bit of gamble with the price though, had a pretty good deal on the 2024 order |

If I had a near-term MY24 allocation, I'd probably wait, but when I had made the decision seven months ago, I thought there was little reason to wait what would have then been a year. A negligible increase in horsepower, iD8.5 (not a significant step-up by any means), and the switch from the beautiful laser lights to very boring looking non-lasers (a real step-down imo). I'm sure there'll be a few small surprises (silver rather than black interior buttons, maybe) but that's about it. I'm pretty disappointed actually.

I'm ordering in July 2024, when orders will be open for MY 2025 - at least here in Canada. Reason: while BMW's updates or LCIs are not always a direct improvement (visually or otherwise), I find they are very skilled at designing the updated model in a way that renders the previous iteration 'last gen' or at least makes it look that way. Just my two cents.
