The M versions of the non M sedans have never differed in absolute grill shape from their non M counterparts this much. There is zero chance the new M 3 will look like this. That grill is almost as large as Lexus and Audi!

Remember that since the E90 M3, M3 variants have been using the 3/4 Coupe's grills instead of the sedan. The 4 series has already been spied w/ vertical grills as well, so likely it will share similarities w/ that. Even if that isn't the case, its pretty clear, even in camouflage, that the car will in fact have different, tall, and large kidneys that do not look like the regular G20, the horizontal rather than vertical slats also emphasize this.

I actually love the design, my only issue is that the number plate will now be a friggen eyesore, placed smack in the middle. Ughhhh

Offer it in Silverstone, with speed cloth, RWD and a manual and I'll buy it.

Like some others have said, this isn't the best render but it gets to the core of what's coming. I don't think (hope) it is not as busy (especially in the rear) but I actually like the tall grill design if it's executed well. This render is most likely close but like most renders the details are off which makes all the difference.... staying optimistic.

I'll need to see the final version and in person. This rendering has me leaning towards not liking the design. The rear end is delish!

Just 5 short years ago we went through a similar process for the F80 M3 renders - https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=591048

Let's hope it's as different as this. I can't believe they would make something this ugly. I'm surprised even 5% of the comments favor it. The front has got to go.

Looks disgusting. Lexus rear end, Audi front end. Where are they getting these "designers" from!?

I dont mind change, I think they need to do something different.

That said this looks like a cross between an Audi and an Alfa.

Is this a joke? If they want to copy Audi on their front grille, they cant have kidneys like that. This is not forward thinking at all....Audi and Lexus already did the whole front of the car is a grille thing.
