Yea, but it's included in the 3-yr free maintenance plan!

That front wheel/fender gap is ridiculous on a performance sedan... Why do BMW keep doing that? Maybe their suspension lead owns shares at H&R and Eibach and makes money off of their sales?

I see aftermarket springs in my future, again!

Did you ever consider that the car is accelerating/under load when photographed?!?!?!? It's not parked.

Everyone that comments on the size of the M3 sedan. BMW makes an M2 that is the almost the exact proportions of an E46 M3, if you object to the size of the M3 then that is the model to consider.
My e36 M3 had all that... 4 doors, 5 seats, 6MT, and a large trunk. At least, large enough for me.

The new M3 will be arguably twice as big, or at least feel like it. It's seems that it's as big or bigger than the e39 M5. Some people love compact 4 door sport sedans, which the Audi RS4 is, for example. Given that I want to stick with ///M cars from BMW, the fact that I'm limited to a huge M3 sedan (the smallest 4-door ///M sedan) is very disappointing.

If the M2 came in 4 doors, I would be all over it.

If the numbers are correct, the new F8x Ms are now wider than both E39 and E60 M5s (measuring from center of the right tire to the center of the left tire). The new F8x Ms are wider and longer than the old E46 M3 yet they weight about the same. The bar chart gives a better visual.

But would it pass today's safety and emission standards? No it wouldn't, so you couldn't just build it again as-is.

As far as I can tell from a quick google search, the current Audi RS4 is slightly longer than the G20 3er?

Also, "some people" seem to be around here a lot but are arguably a minuscule amount of people world-wide in order to warrant development of a completely new product just for them.

November update:

Per this interview, BMW M CEO confirms that G80 M3 / G82 M4 will come in auto, manual, AWD and RWD and that the manual version will be RWD-only.

No problems with this at all, I just hope they don't nerf the 6MT too much (or at all)

Grill is huge so RIP M3? You have an extremely shallow view of M3.
