What do you guys think of my deal?

Lease:
$1109/m
$77595 MSRP, trying to get loyalty and PENFED credit totaling $1000
36 months
7500 miles
58% residual
$1700 drive off
4.712% state tax
I was told MF is .00093 (2.232%), however payment seems a bit high when I throw the depreciation into an amortization for 36 months at that rate.

Alternatively, I was approved with PENFED for a payment saver loan, basically a 48 month ballon payment at 3.49%, payment $1060/m, in which I'll get $2500 PENFED credit.

I feel I'll keep the car for awhile but it would be nice to turn it in if something were to happen to the car within the first few years.
Should I just bite the bullet and pay the lease payment which is higher, as it would be similar to GAP insurance?

Lease monthly looks about right. MF and Residual aren't marked up. Only way you're going to do better is if you get the msrp down.

Mine looks like 1111/month, just about same msrp.

Thanks, but the math just doesn't work out which is what's bothering me. Is there something I'm not factoring when calculating the lease payment.

Based off of amortizing it, the payment should be $998.12 after the 4.712% tax.

I'm a bit lost on "advanced payment" and "upfront charges". The doc fee im assuming is different than the $925 BMWFS acquisition fee.

I think that may have been a mistake, $1086.46 was the payment when they mistakenly quoted me 59% residual.

From what I understand from the dealer, I will pay the first lease payment and registration. I'm ignorant as this is my first lease. On what's required or not, but I do understand loan terms/calculations very well.

That makes sense. But still trying to figure out dealer fees, doc fees, registration costs for your area etc. Then I can build a proper calculator.

Your due at signing sounds good. I would advise strongly against putting cash down on a lease None present based on what you mentioned). There is no advantage to this unless you simply want to "feel better" about your payment.

Roughly based on the numbers, it seems your deal is very neutral (but good in todays standards), with base money factor, MSRP, and some loyalty credit.

My goal is to have my payment under $1000 and from my calculations it seems it is possible, from the previous picture I'm sure that they use an amortization to obtain the principal and interest payment, but when you multiply the MO LEASE CHG by 12 months and divide that by TOTAL TERM DEP, the rate is 4.2% (.00175 MF). This leads me to believe that although I'm being told the MF (.00093) is base at which is 2.232%, I'm not really getting base MF.

Here are the dealer fees:
$995 acquisition
$550 doc
$430 reg

Yeah, see if they can provide you a better spec sheet for the deal. Seems you mat be right about MF.

And just to clear up one comment from above, residual is unchangeable by the dealer, and set by BMW.

You're not going to break $1k for your payment unless the base cap cost is reduced by ~$3k.

Your other calculations neglect the tax too; $49 per month

I checked a few lease calculators and the MF you are being quoted (0.00093) does work out to be accurate.
Rent/finance charge = Net Cap Cost + Residual * MF * term (months)

Thankfully NY limits (by law) the Dealership Doc Fee aka Ripoff Fee to $75. 34 states have no limit on what they can charge.

Thanks for clarifying and everyone's help.

I just finalized the lease with adding in $500 loyalty and $500 PenFed, now my payment is down to $1080/m.

How did you get the $500 penfed? They still offering $500 loyalty on the 22s?

2021 model, unsure of 2022 incentives.

$500 if using BMWFS or $2500 if paying cash/financing elsewhere.

What kind of discounts are people getting for Priority 1 orders?

This thread has several posts from folks who got discounts off MSRP.

My dealer gave me a fixed amount off MSRP, which after all my options ends up being about 3% off. They're a couple of states over from me but I went with them because none of the dealers in my state were willing to deal that much if at all.

Now the issue is getting allocations; there just seem to be far fewer allocations available than would be normal. The fact that AWD and RWD allocations are interchangeable is a double edged sword for anybody not already on a waiting list.

$1100 to lease an M3 is an astounding number. I pay $1100 for my X5 M50i with a $104K sticker - that includes taxes and zero down.

Oh my.. Seems like it's better to purchase with 2500 penfed and 500 loyalty.. Vs lease.. Penfed and military seems the same.. But I'm guessing they don't stack since it's a true car program?

I agree, but for the peace of mind as the payment was not much different from financing with 0 down, I opted to lease as I have the option to turn the car in or buy it out after the term.

Any update on July numbers for 2022 models? Specifically looking to see if the $500 Loyalty applies to 2022 M3 AWD
