That’s wild. It seems like its just like of the draw how long it sits at the port.

It hasn’t even left the factory, most likely they are saying. It hasn’t made it to the port, so there will be waiting time once it actually makes it to the port. Feels like it got lost in the shuffle, makes zero sense for waiting that long in that status.

Oof ya that sucks man. Either something wasn’t right, got damaged, or someone dropped the ball. Either way, not ideal.

That’s unreal man! I’m sorry it’s taking so long. Any idea what’s causing the delay? Has BMW given you any reason why it’s taking so long to find a carrier?

My dealer has tried to escalate it with no luck. They can’t even ping the car but the battery might be unhooked.

Crazy how ups/fedex and amazon can track much lower value packages with more precision and BMW can’t track down a $100k asset.

For West Coast cars do they all end up at Port Hueneme (my childhood city funnily enough) or are there other Westcoast drop off ports?

Called Genius just now, said they see same status and to check with dealership . Called dealership and they said to call Genius. Kind of a joke. Order a $100k+ car and they don’t know the status! I can track a $5 Amazon package within 3 feet of its delivery route LOL.

I asked Genius if they were aware of any delays at factory or transport, and they said none that theyÂ’re aware of. Dealer is emailing me later today once they call factory for an update. Will keep yÂ’all posted.

Come on BMW!
Any updates on yours, still stuck in the paint booth? Mine still "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" since Nov 21st, 48 days later.

I believe that is the drop off due to the VPC being near the Port. I’m in Washington State and my car was processed at LA, before my car arrived, the ship that carried my car arrived at Tacoma. Haha.

I’m also in washing state. Do you know of any way to calculate registration fees? The DOL website is an absolute joke and has no way to do it for new cars that I can tell. Or do you happen recall what your registration fees were?

Just trying to ballpark my loan amount so I can start shopping around.

My status moved to “Awaiting Carrier Assignment today. Jumped straight from paint booth. BMW website was down for maintenance two days ago, so maybe they updated the tracking? Who knows. I do know my car was scheduled to be completed today, 01/11 so seems accurate.

That’s wild. Mine basically started production on Jan 8th and arrived at the port this morning. I wonder why yours is so delayed.

Update: moved to “Dispatched from factory” after only 1 day. Hoping yours moves soon!

Mine finally moved to dispatched from factory on 1/10/24 and then arrived at port 1/11/24. We making moves! Nuts the disparity of wait/que times. Suppose to be at Zeebruegge port, and a boat leaves on 1/18/24, hoping it makes the ship! I have waited long enough, LOL!

Congrats on the progress! Always stoked when the needle moves if even an inch.

Was Genius able to tell you the departure date from the port? I was under the impression that I had to wait till it updated to status “in transit” to find out which ferry it’s on..

Mine left port on 1-17 from Bremerhaven on Sirius Highway (KLine), expected to dock in Galveston on 2-2!

The person didn't really ask a yes or no question. A better response would have been "they all end up at Port Hueneme"

Hi.

First post here. I ordered a MY24 G80. I was given a production number and a build week. I tracked it and saw that the car was scheduled for production. Now I checked it and it's gone back to order received. I called BMW Genius and the woman I spoke to said that she's personally never seen that. Any advice?

Thanks

Matt

I would call back BMW Genius and you will get a diff person and explain what you were told. I’m sure it’s been resolved. Also you can call your dealer and let them do the leg work to find out.
