Hey guys,

I just completed my install and my god what a difference. Car looks 1000000x better.

There wasnt too much information on this and thought I post some info if anyone wants to do this in the future.

Step 1: The hardest part. Finding a set of laser lights.

I searched on ebay for about a month. Checking daily and happen to cross a local selling it.

- Make sure if you are sourcing one to get tons of pics from the seller

-Inspect for corrosion in case it came off a flood vehicle

-Try to find completed sets. Many sellers tend to just rip out the module and keep it separate.

-Look for US specs. You could do Euro versions but some say that it will revert back to being inoperable once a software update is completed. Didnt want to deal with that so went for US spec only.

Step 2: Buy an e-net cable and have a laptop with windows ready

-This is needed for the coder to get it up and running

Step 3: Buy the coding session and book a seasion.

kubax86 Will take care of you fast. Did it in 5 minutes !

Official Bimmer Post Vendor as well!

Step 4: Install headlights (important)

- These headlights are plug and play but will not turn on until you get them coded.

- Make sure you coordinate with the shop you are using to then get it coded ( I did the install myself to skip this step)

Step 5: Get it coded!

Kuba will code it and verify for you and then you can now enjoy your massive upgrade!

If you require more info my IG: GT_juls

Did plenty of stories to document this journey. Hope this helps!

Hats off to you. What would the typical person looking to do this, expect to spend?

Why not do it as you installed the lights then?

Also, your front end ducts. Which ones are those?

Thank you! Total I spent $2500.

2400 for the lights and 100 to code. Definitely a good deal in my opinion as I saw one side being $2000 with no modules!

Right side $999.

Says DRL issue but im 90% sure it had a RGB chip installed previously. Just buy the yellow drl chips and enjoy. Pretty sick deal if anyone wants to retro fit.

Yes there are three total bolts and the last one is behind the light and you need clearance to make sure you can remove and install properly.

This post helped me through the process of retrofitting the laser lights on my G80. Here are some pics that could be helpful … there is a screw behind each light that was tricky to get to … otherwise not too complicated. I did it all myself with the help of a youtube video on how to remove front bumper.

I drove the car in the rain yesterday and got some condensation that dried overnight … I read the other posts on that subject and I’m hoping it will go away with time.

Many thanks to kubax86 from bimmer remote for the coding and Julian for the post 😇

Not hard at all.

Best tip is to remove both front wheels and remove the fender liner enough where the front portions are hanging. Makes it so much easier than trying to shimmy your hands in there trying to remove the 10mm

I think removing the bumper absolutely sucks on our cars. Congrats on the lasers though!

I'm looking at doing the same thing. Do you have to recode every time there is a software update?

Is it just VO coding the option in or does it require recoding anything in the modules?
