IND | MMR Performance G8X M3 / M4 Power Control Module
The Control Module works by using MMR's in-house developed calibration running on their standalone PCB, which communicates in parallel with the factory ECU. This communication route allows the PCM to safely optimize a variety of electronic sensor signals in real time, interfacing between the engine controls and its sensors; with multiple channels such as charge air pressure, ignition and fueling controlled by the Control Module computer. MMR has carried out tens of thousands of development miles of rigorous testing on their in-house dyno, on road and on track with numerous calibrations, across multiple cars and different hardware installations, allowing them to find the sweet spot for engine drivability and safety. The unit itself is housed in a stunning billet aluminum case, finned to ensure adequate cooling plus a beautiful carbon fiber mounting bracket to affix it securely in your engine bay. Additional information available from MMR. NOTE: NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA Product Features:

Piggybacks inherently operate in the same manner, though they can be optimized for different delivery and some feature sets can differ.
While we're happy to comment on the manufacturing features we think are improvements, like the included carbon mounting bracket with easy access location, as well as the quality of the finned anodized billet enclosure, we feel that it's best to go straight to the manufacturer for specific operational questions. We'll reach out to MMR Performance to see if we can get some comparison points. However, a big reason we're huge fans of this brand is their racing background. Starting back in 1996, Volkswagen Motorsport UK (owned by VW AG in Germany) was heavily involved in the British Touring Car Championship. This company became RacingLine in 1997 and won the BTCC in a Golf 3. They've continued Touring Car racing to this day and remain a tier 1 partner to VAG. RacingLine started MMR Performance to focus on BMW and Mini and every product they produce has been heavily tested prior to release.
