Order was placed in March, it was originally a week 9 build in 112 status. When I changed a few items it got knocked into 111 status and pushed to week 15 build. Has been in 112 status for a few weeks and today got bumped back to 111 and week 23. I think it would of went into production as scheduled in week 9 but I changed stuff which is fine. But now bumped to week 23 it's brutal, and no guarantee it won't get bumped again.

yea makes no sense especially since g82s with carbon buckets aren't getting bumped

Its odd, I have a simpler build I think and no carbon buckets which seem to be one of the problem options. I also have a manual RWD, but yet I've been repeatedly bumped even though I've ordered way back in October. I've also never changed anything on the order. Its frustrating there doesnt seem to be any reason or logic behind who gets bumped, but I'm coming up on month 6 of waiting.

How do you know when you're assigned a VIN? I heard someone say something about Chrome dev tools. The next step after 112 is "Production begins" is that 150?

Mine still shows 112, but I just got off the phone with Genius and they said I'm now week 17 which is the 5th time I've been bumped... I have the CF trim but not the buckets. I'm not sure whats more depressing, waiting 5 months and cancelling my order or waiting another miserable month to get bumped again.

Edit: Start week 17, so I guess build week 19?

I'm guessing people are being pushed due to the wiring harness issues. I have no basis for that guess but I can't imagine that they can re-allocate production for something as complicated as that within a few weeks and then have an ample supply of them to keep up with the production numbers their factories see every week.

I just called BMW Genius and I'm not sure if the person I spoke to just had no idea or if I'm confused. Last time I called they said I was week 15. She said I'm still scheduled for week 15 which she said is 4/4/22 (clearly not, that's week 14). But she did say I will have a VIN next Monday. So I assume that's 1 week before when I'm scheduled for production which makes sense?

Maybe but it doesnt make sense. Someone in the week 14 thread said they got an allocation only in March, went into production last week never getting bumped once. How does someone order later, not get bumped, and start production before others if it really is something basic like not having enough stock of a part like a wiring harness? That user also shows they are in Texas same as me and others in this thread who got bumped.

yea i really don't think there's much logic honestly. the only thing i have noticed consistently is g80 carbon buckets getting pushed

There doesn't appear to be much logic (at least from a consumer level) behind any of BMW's decisions unfortunately. It just seems like luck of the draw at the moment.

It does seem like more G80's are being pushed as opposed to G82/83's though, but maybe that's just a coincidence.

Don't know if it means anything but the genius said there is a possibility to get bumped back to an earlier week if the parts needed some in. She said cars get bumped when all the components needed aren't here. So not putting hope but would be nice if it happens.

I guess that explains how some people seem to jump forward weeks (couldn't ever figure that out). Good to know! A rarity, but still a nice possible surprise haha

I'm not checking anymore until end of next month. Tired of this mess, it's 2022 and it's crazy a company this big can't get things in line. The only think that's keeping me being ok with all this is what's happening with the Ukraine and how people are suffering so waiting on a car isn't the end of the world.
