Many of you have already sent out your DMEs to FEMTO already but for those who haven't and are curious about the process, this is what I did. Did everything at home and scheduled a DHL pick up. Pretty easy and save yourself some money by doing it yourself. I also attached the to and from tracking information so you can see the timeline. You do need to reach out to FEMTO directly first either by email or Instagram prior to doing any of this. They'll provide their address and contact information. Once they receive your package, they'll reach out and request a wire transfer before they perform any work. I sent my wire via my Chase bank account online as my Credit Union did not offer this service.

I taped a paper with my VIN, name and what service I wanted (BM3 CustomROM) on one side. FEMTO also wants you to include a piece of paper of what I wrote on my DME but forgot to include. Box up your DME securely. This may be optional but I did write "Temporary Export" on the exterior of the package. Instructions from DHL stated not to seal package until the courier picks up. I left it open and sealed package once he arrived.

I paid extra for Saturday delivery but didn't even think to ask if they were open on weekends (they aren't). So I wasted the Saturday delivery fee. I think it was $250 before Saturday delivery to Finland and $150 back. It may be a little cheaper going through a DHL shipper because of their discounts but the nearest place was 20 miles away.

Another thing you can do is perform a dry run on the DHL website and run through the actions. You won't have their address but you can make something up to get to the next screen and see what to expect.

FEMTO is pretty clear on not sending them anything until they give the clear to do so, so hopefully no one sends them anything prior to receiving the okay.

So how much did it all cost? The cost of sending, unlock, tune and ect. What are guys running with just a 93 tune with stock exhaust?

When shipping with DHL did you have to deal with an ATA Carnet? When I look on the DHL website, they say that Temporary Exports require documents such as the ATA Carnet. Just wondering if DHL takes care of that for the extra $90 fee.

I don't recall doing that. Every step listed is exactly as I did and I took a screenshot at step of the way. I do remember letting them automatically generating the documents and I uploaded a picture of my signature. If I have time later I'll backtrack and refresh my memory.

Sorry, missed this. 750 EUR for unlock to FEMTO at the time.

Shipping will be different for everyone but you can get a basic quote on the DHL website shipping to Finland.

$595 for BM3 license. Includes 1 map of your choosing.

$1049 for a custom flex fuel Paul Johnson tune. Still in the remote tuning process as I just had shoulder surgery and had to pause everything until I can drive again.

That would be huge for a lot of people I'm sure! From CA, it was at least $200 with no discount. Even more because I wasted my money on Saturday delivery and they aren't open. Oops.

Yea looks like they take care of that. Although I didn't see the extra $90 fee show up yet.

I am at the part where I need to upload a picture of my signature... I'm not sure what to put for the "Signer's Title" field, but it is mandatory. Not sure if it is supposed to be "Mr." or something like "Owner" if I own the part or am owner of a company or something.

Just used this... their menus changed a little tiny bit and I forgot to include the paper with all my info inside the box also lol. Fingers crossed all good. Paid $291 to get it there in 2 days (leaving Monday, received by noon Wednesday)
