BM3 OTS tunes, performance results!? anyone..
While I wait for our DME to return to eventually do a custom E85 tune with, I'm so going to run at least 1 of the OTS files just to see the performance numbers with the dragy compared to stock. Wondering what the BM3 OTS files will run on the G80's compared to say the F80/F87's etc..? Having spoke with a few guys on the board whom have made the switch from JB4 to Flashing the ECU/DME they noticed an improvement right away but most likely those were just the lower map jb4's (1 or 2). I've seen a ton of JB4 numbers posted which are impressive, but no BM3 OTS numbers. Assuming they are fair and just a safe type of power levels being OTS and we aren't seeing them posted since most are going directly to custom E85 tunes to flash with the BM3. Was hopefully to see something in the high 7's 60-130 on our G80 with a BM3 stage 2 93 or E30 map which would be impressive. My last M2 comp I was low 8's with just DP and 93 OTS file from BM3.

Here's a few of my dragy runs on my g83. I am running stage 2 e30 ots map. My only mods are mst intakes and secondary cats and primary resonator deleted. I had wheel sleep for these times. I swear I need to get my depth perception checked. The streets looked flat on my 60-130 run and it says invalid.

And here we go… with bitter sweet feeling Im sharing the news about my experience about the change from RaceChip Map 7 to BM3 Stage 1 OTS map.
In few words. No difference! Times exectly, exectly same around 3.2-3.3s to 60 and 11.2-11.3 for a 1/4 mile. Latest draggy attached. Observation: in the bm3 app recognized max boost at the level of 20.3PSI and while accelerating I feel how car is reaching this PSI quick and staying up to high rpms. With Racechip I felt… butt feel… that boost may have gone even higher… not proven beither tested. Of course elevation/DA will do some harm to overall results due to my home town elevation 5000’. Ach… was expecting some difference so now I may need to accelerate plans to go with custom tune from Paul … just not sure I can expect recognizable difference in comparison to OTS. Any inside would be welcome… |

Send your logs here. Trap speed is very low. Your DA is crazy high but for it to effect about 6mph is significant. |

7000 DA is a ~20% horsepower loss on NA cars. Turbo can compensate somewhat but it's still brutal. OTS tunes are going to be far from optimal in those conditions, you will benefit greatly from a custom tune but it's also going to be important that the tuner is experienced in working with cars at altitude and is willing to put in the time to dial it in.

Decide to not wait longer but upload Stage 1 tune again. And …. right aways saw PSI limit at 24.8 psi 🤙🙏 Went for a ride… and already felt difference. Took some autologs and i can see boost target is set to 24.8 but on few occasion boost reached 26-27PSI! :-) When wifey is back will do draggy test or will wait till tomorrow :-) But seems like it did work! Will test more and come back with an update ! BTW: have no idea how to share this CSV file :-/ |

Bostro after flashing it takes a while for the car to learn adaptations and give you the full power of the tune. I learned this from Paul, that after flashing I would go run all gears through the RPMs manually shifting…first round with an easy foot, second round a little more, then medium, then stomping it. The car would quickly learn the new power ability and give me the maximum the tune had in it.

Ok… thanks to your all help my bitter sweetness changed into full happines!!!
After reflashing the car and driving it granually harder i finally feel difference over RaceChip!!! And feeling is awesome! 0-60 times went down to 3.0Xsec. with still significant wheels spin! But man… its brutal! Cannot wait to put my goodyear all season which hooks up better and Im sure will go below 3sec easly! 1/4 time on the edge of 11sec with trap speeds way way over 120mph. Better traction/road and for sure high tens :-)) |

6MT with OTS stage 2 flex tune, catted DPs, ~E55. Clutch slipping, 100F, granny shift. 7.76s on the 60 - 130.
Have to stay under E30 to avoid slip until I can grab the PTB clutch :/ |
