Squeaky Brakes

Been driving my G80 maybe 1-2 times a week as my weekend car and I have about 3K miles and my brakes are still squeaky. I have the regular brakes and wondering if this is normal. There is no issue with braking per se and despite driving for like 5-10 miles and braking often, they still end up squeaking. Any thoughts ?

How old are you? Take some responsibility for yourself and crack open your damn owners manual. It's right in there. It's also been discussed in countless threads on the board. We don't need a new thread or a long discussion on something when you can consult the manual which is simply what my reply instructed you to do. Grow up.

Also, your grammar is embarrassing.

It’s true though. The factory brakes require bedding often to stop daily squeal. It sucks. I ordered replacement iSweep IS1500 pads. Once installed I will give feedback.

I love when people get mad when someone comes to a forum to discuss their car. When people stop doing that, the forum dies. Asking questions on a forum is a viable alternative. It also allows personal experiences that an owners manual may not provide.

OP "Can someone help me please?"

Poster 2 "**** you for telling the OP to go **** themselves"

By the way i get squealy brakes too, the key bit is around hard vs soft braking. If you do alot of motorway/highway driving which involves gentle braking its usually worse just as you get back on to a normal road. Either way it's "normal". Hard braking a few times when safe reduces it

Yes it is completely normal, the M3 breaks are actually not bad at all (used to have pagid yellows on my Cayman, they squeal a lot!) hit the breaks hard a couple of times in a safe setting and they will stop squealing for a bit.

As someone fairly new to this, is it possible to just replace the fronts or do you need to have the same pads on all 4 wheels?

I ordered them last week - should be arriving this week or next. I am at about 7000 miles. It's just embarassing.

I hope I dont have to replace them. My car is only 5 months old. I see that this is normal to M3

Unfortunately it is not just the M3 models. Most of the high performance cars with the same pads make the same noises.

The main thing is that these cars are designed for track use and use track compounds where noise is not generated unless there is less friction.

The squeaking occurs from "Dust on Dust" I have been doing a hard brake from 100-5 a few times every few days to keep it at bay.

If you get them swapped, choose something like the iSweep 1500's or EBC Reds (Good luck finding the reds though stock wise).

Ive dealt with this guy before. He never has anything useful to say except for some snarky ass comments. I think he is just lonely and trolling this forum thinking he is a comedian. Ive let it fly past before but wanted to call out his BS. Its like they act like they r the moderators on this forum and dont have anything useful to share except for search the forum or go look into the manual. I hope he stops these stupid comments, but he wont, will move on to someone else thread and post some idiotic comments there too. He prob needs to get laid than sitting his fat ass in a basement typing his shit away

You hit the nail on its head. I usually do highway driving and yes when I exit and use the side roads, I could hear the squealing a lot. So I guess I just have to live with this "new normal" until I have a chance to replace them
