Wonder how much faster than 1,53.9 the XDrive would be on Cup2s.

Overall, it looks like XDrive maintains about a 0.5 second lead compared to RWD on same tires from what we've seen so far at other tracks as well.
That's because the G8X star spec PS4S are super sticky out of the box. Tyre Review made a comparison and found the G8X star spec to be 1.5sec/min lap faster than the generic PS4S, that is quite impressive. He also explains what was done to the G8X star spec PS4S to make it a better tire. Worth watching:

Rumor has it that the G82 CSL will be shod with PSC2R. If true, it should post some impressive times indeed .

There is something strange about the 992s times anyway.
How can the manual Carrera S be only 0.1s slower than the GTS Pdk (same driver and same tires)? Probably the Carrera S was driven in better weather conditions and there may be room for improvement for the GTS.

BTW, the dashboard setting on the M4 has no impact on driving dynamics (except for ADAS), you can have the standard layout with the sportier settings and vice versa

As you can imagine, there's a lengthy debate about this on Rennlist. Different days and different conditions are very likely contributors. But IMO, also the rather significant weight penalty of PDK outweighs the benefits of the faster shifts on this particular track.

In a similar way, Randy Pobst was faster in the 6MT G82 than he was in the 8AT G80competition in a recent test.

Good point, but I've just found out (here) that the Carrera S Pdk did the same time as the GTS (again with Pirellis), hard to believe that the extra drivetrain loss of the 4WD would cancel out the 30bhp and better chassis configuration of the GTS.
I think that:
1) there are too many variables to compare times done on different days, a few tenths come and go
2) the 911 remains as incredibly high performance a car as ever, and the 992 is even more stunning even with 'low' power
3) the G8x platform brought the sport sedan/coupé game to an incredibly high level

I fully agree, having been an avid track enthusiast for close to 30years, it is obvious to me that environmental/weather/tire conditions have a significant effect on lap times.

That being said, weight also plays a major part here when comparing the different 911 lap times. The various elements quickly add up, according to Porsche specs:
+35kg/77lb PDK
+50kg/110lb AWD
+30kg/66lb GTS spec

So a base PDK GTS is ~115kg/250lb heavier than a base MT C2S, which is enough to negate the 30hp power benefit. Now, this can vary depending how the different cars are specced, but it give an idea.

Randy has a policy of not manually changing gears if the car is able to automatically change gears though which slows his times down quite a bit. Same thing happened with the M2CS where he was complaining that the gearbox chose the wrong gears and slowed down his lap time. I do not know why he does this. Must have a personal reason I guess?

I actually see some room for improvement in those lap times, especially the one with the ZF8 in the last part of the track. Randy is a good driver, but that wasn't his best lap ever.

This M4 is tremendously fast, very close to the Porsche but for lot less money and much more versatility.

its pretty close to objectively fantastic from every angle but the front. I could see the front being a dealbreaker though cuz thats normally what you see when youre lookin back at your car i for one am very thankful that i like it lol i think some of this is internet hoopla though as i would assume people who dont like the g8x front end wouldnt like a lot of the modern grilles most brands are putting out these days. I think the alfa front end looks worse as well as any of those audis and lexus' spindle grille. Also the model 3 performance front end that looks like it rear ended somebody haha obviously the porsche mid/rear engine cars dont really need a front grille for engine cooling so they dont really apply. SOME of the big grille im sure is needed for engine cooling
