At least for now, I intend to run a front plate using Sto N Sho. It's awfully low and I've had the bracket scrape slightly once or twice. I'll see how it goes. I just think the OE plate base is fugly.

Newbie here
M3AWD, Let me honor you with my first post on the forum! Amazing photos of a spectacular car!
My new M3CX will hopefully arrive end of February with similar spec to yours (PMB/KO Full/Standard Seats/826m Bi-Color/Carbon Exterior/Red Break Calipers). The pictures of all members here really help me to pull through the unbearable waiting time! Thank you! |

I would only do this setup if I were to remove the plate 80% of the time and just need it installed in certain areas/places to avoid a ticket. Thankfully I live in a state where a front plate is not required

Good choice on your spec, I love mine and you'll enjoy it even more on your beautiful scenic roads around Zurich. My family and I visited in summer 2019 and had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful country and city

We do have some scenic roads around here and it will be lots of fun to drive up and down the mountains. Glad you and your family enjoyed your time in Switzerland. Did you get to enjoy the roads around here too? So far I have only seen one member with a Swiss number plate (funny enough, I even know where he and his dad go for a car wash). |

I really like your steering wheel. I didn’t see that option when I was ordering my M4. Did you get the steering wheel after the fact? How did you get it and how much was it? |

They’re two different things really. Ceramic coating alone will give your paint some surface protection from the elements (think dirt, water, water spots). It acts as both a sacrificial layer and is very hydrophobic, meaning dirt and grime don’t stick to it as easily as other surface protection. It makes washing your car a bit easier too.
PPF is a thicker physical layer on top of your paint and will protect it from minor impact and scratches. Many folks do both, get the car paint corrected, add PPF then ceramic coat the entire car. That’s ultimate protection at a cost (depending if you get the entire car PPF’d or not). Hope that helps. |

Definitely! Even XPEL which is one of the biggest PPF suppliers have their own ceramic product that they recommend over their film. My PPF installer did CQuartz Skin on my fully PPF'd G80 which is also specifically recommended over film.

That's what I ordered, M4 in Portimao with the Fjord Blue. The Fjord blue interior added 2 months to my delivery date, no real explanation given.

Some people wear blue jean shirts with blue jeans... it's all about what you like.
I like contrast. I saw a superman build (in this thread I believe) and it looked amazing to my eyes. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I ordered Portimao/Kyalami because back in 1996 I went to a car show and saw an M3 in Estoril blue with baseball glove interior (not sure what's the name for that color at BMW - it's somewhere in-between Tartuffo and Kyalami). I immediately fell in love with the combination, but could not afford one at the time. Here I am ~25 years later ordering the closest match I could find. I hope I can also fulfill my 911 dream someday... that one started in the 80s.
