About to buy an RWD M4C. No winter tires available. Advice?

I’m probably going to finalize this deal by Wednesday but I live in central Ohio and I can’t find any winter tires left. Maybe this is a light winter with little to snow, maybe not. You never know in Ohio. Would I be alright getting by this year with the DWS06 or Pilot A/S 4? Anyone with experience?

FYI there is a Wheel/Tire forum with many posts: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2004695

Both those tires are fantastic, used both over several RWD BMWs and Audi Quattros. General consensus (as if!), unless you are in consistent snow (more than a few inches) you’ll be fine.

The all seasons are actually better on cold+wet and cold+dry than winter tires. On actual snow & ice, they are not nearly as good though. So it depends on how much you drive on actual snow and ice. If you drive on wet roads that have been salted, all seasons will be ok.

Just add xdrive, you won't regret it.

A/S should be fine better than summer tires.

Due to wide rear wheels it will be tricky to drive in stop and go traffic on icy roads with or without snow tires

DWS 06 and stay out of deep snow. You’ll be fine.

No way I would plan to drive my M3 every day without full winter tires. Regardless of rwd or xdrive. Can it be done? Sure. But it’s clearly less safe, less enjoyable and more stressful.

We’ve had quite a bit of early season snow here in CO and the roads have been super slick.

I mean, I did, so it's my personal preference. But a Hellcat Redeye is still RWD. Some people just like burning rubber!

Everyone should pass the IQ test to make sure they used their brains when driving a 500+ hp car.
