Big Daddies Garage o2 Simulator

(Mini Cat O2 Sensor CEL FIX)

Has anyone used these yet for their catless downpipe? I’m noticing a issue where when you use the washers given plus the one already on the o2 sensor that is instructed to use you will hit the honey comb and break It. So you need to use both washers that were given just for one but then there is almost no thread left so you have to lock tight It and u also lose the other washer. Not sure if it’s normally like this or if other had this issue! Would like some feedback on It.

I haven't installed these yet but will in the next few weeks when I receive my downpipes. Did you contact big daddies garage about it?

I followed the instructions and haven't noticed an issue. Didn't pay attention to thread engagement but was able to torque. Will check if they're loose next tike under it.

Only issue I had was a downpipe bolt backing off after initial install. Threw an inconsistent airflow code. Thought it was the simulator but they've done their job

Anyone had issues ordering? They asked me to confirm that I wouldn't use them in street driving and blah blah. I said I understood. Then the email me saying confirm AND agree. So I confirmed and agreed.

Received a confirmation of shipping.
Then couple hours later I fucking got a refund and 10.00 restocking fee. WTF?

I have them installed with project gamma catless dps. No Cel's over 1000 miles later. Also ordered them for the Lamborghini and they showed up within 3 days.

Yeah, they work pretty well. Once in a while the spacers can still cause a CEL for the oxygen sensor not being up to temp, but it's really rare.

Alternatively, you can use a downpipe that already has the mini catalyst built in.

I saw some people welding some sort of bug extension so the the sensor doesnt hit the comb. Is this necessary? If yes, what do you use?

Yes, I've seen where a spacer will need to be welded onto the downpipe so the secondary O2 sensors don't hit the catalyst media.

This isn't the case on the No CEL downpipes that have the small catalyst built in. It's just required when using the no cat pipes and a bigdaddy type spacer.

Added a picture for more explanation...

EPA is crawling up their hind end. Do a bit of research. My race car tuner got it here - https://news.yahoo.com/epa-armed-age...105500071.html

Been using then for over 15 years. It does not always work. Depending on SW coding built into ECU/ECM call them what you like this is not a guarantee. Some thresholds are tighter than others across manufacturer(s). Some folks use steel wool in conjunction with the 02 sensor(s). The best way out is a good tuner. Don't send email or discuss on the phone with your tuner. Go into the shop. EPA is looking.

Oh ok. Makes sense. Is there an universal or specific size for that bug spacers that you can weld?

Thanks for the info!

Would like more info on this. Looking to get a catless downpipe. Was thinking of going with rally road one posted above but haven’t seen any reviews on it

Thanks in advance.

How'd you get them to fit without hitting the honeycomb and thread properly? Got myself a set of MAD catless dp and looking for an O2 spacer solution before DME unlocking gets easier.

Mine arrived with washers taped in place and a big note that said it must be installed with provided washers. This ensures clearance.

The provided washers certainly didn't preclude contact of the O2 sensor tip with the cat element for me. I ended up finding some similar washers with some sort of "spark plug anti fouling spacer" from O'Reilly's. BDG provided washers are 2 mm thick. Washers I found are 3.25 mm. I used the stock washer plus the 3.25 mm one and that kept the O2 sensor tip from touching the element while still leaving enough thread engagement for me to feel like the install was solid.

I have a set of downpipes with the 02 spacers going in as we speak. I'll report back if they fit or if they had to rig them somehow.
