Active driving assistant working

I have a 2024 G82 X drive with the Active driving assistant. I’ve noticed that at slow in town driving it doesn’t seem to activate when coming close to a car in traffic. I have it set in Idrive so I don’t know what’s happening. Suggestions?

Active Driving Assistant is not a system that auto-activates. You have to press the cruise control button and then hit the 'mode' button to engage both lane keeping and self-steering functions.

It doesn't work on city streets. It's only on approved highways, like an interstate or state highway.
