[Rosetta Stoned]

Anyone else have this happen and know how to resolve it? My phone auto downloaded the update and uploaded it to the car. Honestly didn't care to install it because I'll have to recode some stuff but now it's stuck. I saw the message one time saying it was ready to install but I didn't complete it at that moment. Since then it's been stuck like this - see pic. The MyBMW app says "Upgrade ready to install. Please continue in your BMW" for new version 03/2023.67.

I've since done the following:
- Reset iDrive by holding the power button for 30 seconds
- Disabled auto download of updates in BMW app, there is no cancel.
- Tried setting parking brake, leaving keys in the car, have nothing connected to OBD.

During this time while it's been stuck I've had a few strange occurrences.
- Came out to the car in garage and found it unlocked, mirrors unflolded, and when entering the car no lights came on or gauge cluster nothing. Car started up fine though, was only over a single night.
- Inconsistent day/night on CarPlay. Saw this twice, have not seen since I reset the iDrive.

Did you start the car (and leave it running)? I waited like 30 min at that same screen, then realized it says you must drive the car. Once I started the car it resumed. Then when it hit 100% it says the car must be parked to finish. It was “parked”, but refused to finish. Once I turned the car off it resumed again.

Have an appointment this Friday for 5000m service, see what the dealers will say.

I’ve been driving it for a week with it like this. All functions of idrive are working and car drives fine. When you go to upgrade in settings it shows only this.

They needed it overnight, but last week was a long weekend.
So I decided not to leave the car there.
All is fine, just for the notification on my phone.
Will have it checked at a later date.

Yay… same thing is happening to my car.
Stuck on the upload to car and I’ve tried everything, cancelling and restarting, removing and reinstalling app, minus disconnecting battery.

Anyone has any luck before I disconnect battery?

Disconnected, waited 5 minutes, reconnected. Still stuck. Also turned off/on bluetooth&wifi in the car multiple times with no change.

Spoke to a "BMW Genius" and he said to do the following, which I believe is just a canned response because the phone is no longer in play here as the update was already on the car ready to apply.

1. Reboot phone (done)
2. Reboot iDrive (done)
3. Re-pair phone - why if update is already on the car?
4. Bring it in and BMW will have to recode the whole car for a few hours

* He mentioned a lot of issues with the 03/2023 update across various vehicle types. My wife's X3 is also stuck but hers is not uploading to the car from the phone.

OK got it out of being stuck for now.

In iDrive I went to Data Privacy and disabled "remote software upgrade" and then turned it back on again. Then I went back to the software update section and it allowed me to search for update. It then showed the update available and myBMW app popped up a notification of it being ready to download. Likely not going to bother though, just glad it's not stuck there anymore.

Yep all good here, update done and did all my Bimmer codes again

NO downloads ever received. Apps deleted, reinstalled. Electronics rebooted etc. I called Genuis. They stated I was up to date. What a joke. The dealer is also suspect at this time.

Even the dealer can't update you to the latest?

A lot of BMWs got stuck on that version and required a dealer update. Anecdotally, I read that a lot of cars with that version left the factory with updates disabled.
