Disable idrive8 auto update? How to? Pic attached

Is the only way to disable the car from auto updating is to disable it from the "mybmw" app?

Not sure about iDrive 8, but in iDrive 7 you can go into settings and switch off Remote Software Upgrade (under privacy settings somewhere)

Thank you! Found it under System, then Data and Privacy, then custom/individual options near bottom, then deselect system update...... I feel they try and hide it so more people dont turn it off!

Yes, it's not the most obvious place to look for it, but you can, in fact, find it there.
You have to switch to "individual services" and specify each one. Here's what it looks like.

This menu is locked for me, says I can’t get into it because my car is managed under fleet control and to call fleet control.

Anyone else get this unlocked by fleet control so you can change these settings?

Keep in mind if you change your phone, the app reinstall / login will default to updates on as well. Learned this the hard way....

I’ll reply to my own thread but the other day I was able to get in to the individual settings. I didn’t change anything but for some odd reason it let me in. I changed the setting and I’m good.

I got this message today too. Weird man. I wonder if my fleet manager is paying for my gas.

I’ve never went back in to look if it came
Back but my updates are all still disabled so I’m not going near that menu.
