Hey guys just received my Technic harness to add an amp (ACM-2.300) to power 2 SWS-8xi underseat woofers.
I had a few questions about wiring:
1) does the wiring diagram uploaded appear correct? Does the green/white harness connect to the SWS-8xi underseat subs or does that plug into the factory underseat speaker wiring harness? (Pic 1)
2) what is the grey/white/red/black harness used for? (Pic 2)
3) I’ve read a number of threads that state since my ACM-2.300 has a remote that I don’t need a remote for the LOC? Or do I have that backwards? (Pic 3)
4) where does the other green and white harness connected to the main harness connect to? (Pic 4)

I was under the impression that I would run speaker outputs from the ACM-2.300 amp directly to the underseat woofers, but with the harnesses I’m not sure anymore

1) The ACM 2.300 needs no LOC in the HK system - wire pic 2 connector directly to ACM high level inputs (white wires = left channel). Red/black wires are not used.

2) Plug pic 2 connector to harness

3) Pic 1 connector is wired to ACM outputs (white wires = left)

4) Plug pic 1 connector to harness

5) Plug harness to Booster.

Thank you!!

If after connecting all of this, I decide I still wanted to add an amp & trunk sub would/could I then utilize the LOC? Would my initial wiring schematic work in that scenario?

Use an ACM-1.300 for a sub, then use LOC (keep woofers playing in Stereo).

Hey Technic

The wiring this all up now and just realized my SWS-8s are in no way connected to the factory car speaker harness or the ACM amp (as they aren’t plug n play)… the SWS’ didn’t come with a factory speaker wiring harness so I ran separate speaker wires from them to the trunk… expecting to connect them to the ACM speaker outputs….

But… since I’ve connected the green/green and white/white wires from the harness to the ACM, there’s no open connections on the ACM-2.300 amp. How do the speakers connect to the ACM amp if the ACM outputs are connected to the PnP harness?

Ok so I removed the piggy back (white/green) adapter and directly plugged the speaker wires from the SWS-8s and we have bass!! I guess that green/white piggy back adapter is only needed if trying to power factory USW w/ an amp…
