Rate on delivery for those who were delayed past lock?
Has anyone successfully taken delivery after their rate lock expired and got their original rate at the time of order due to QC/other delay?
I ordered in September at .00093 and now I hear the rate is .00158 which is completely ridiculous. Especially since it was luck of the draw on who gets delayed, as other cars orders in November and December ARE ALREADY delivered. |

As a backup, I got approved through penfed and plan on brining that check to the dealership when I take delivery. |

I'm hearing the same, was hoping there would be cases of it happening already. Keeping finger's crossed. The rate increase is potentially going to cost near $4000.

I asked my CA today and he said they reached out to BMW but were told that they could not go beyond the 120 day rate lock. Anticipating this, I've secured a more competitive rate with a local LA credit union.

I guess I'll be reaching out to Alaska Credit Union soon to have a backup plan.

My dealer did that for me. My car was allocated in August, delayed three months due to the RAM stop sale and delivered in February. It was supposed to delivered in November. The finance manager was able to get BMWFS to honor my original money factor.
My argument was simple. I did everything right. Other cars sailed right through and it seemed to be up to BMW which cars were delayed and which were not. It's not my fault that BMW allocated a car that they didn't have the parts to complete. Something worked. I was expecting a protracted argument, but it wound up being a nonevent.

It was my understanding that on a lease of an ordered car, it is your choice whether you take the lease terms when you place the order or when the car is delivered. Same with the incentives as well.
I have no experience testing this, but when I was considering leasing for my ordered CV, that is what I found.

Has anyone used PenFed's car buying service to qualify for their lowest rates with a car on order with a specific dealer? I see they're still offering 1.49% for 60 months.
