I know that exact feeling
Dude it's killing me. I'm not a patient person. This process is teaching me patience, but this this getting insane.

Congrats on securing an allocation yourself!!

Thanks- don't lose hope. The manual tranny car seems to be a unicorn allocation. I almost pushed the button on the 50 Jahre edition….
Wanted MT though….Longer wait than CX.
But…. Once you get it, it moves quickly

Really getting fed up with this shit.
Hang in there.

The wait sucks, but the car is awesome and will be worth the wait.

I would definitely try and get on a few lists. Sticking with one list was a mistake I made (and stuck with) for far too long.

congrats..just did the same for a G82 today..hoping an allocation comes through for it next month and then i'm scratching my G80 waitlists

I've been #2 on the list since Feb. Supposedly was #1 in April. Checked again for status in June and being told I'm #2 again. I already have a 2022 RWD M3 and got on the list to get the xdrive version. Was hoping I'll get another 2022 model because of idrive 8 but that won't be happening. I'm still on the fence about ID8. May end up getting my refund back.

Usually each experience is slightly different, but in this case that is correct. The M3 is hugely more popular than the M4 even though they’re the exact same car minus two doors. Supposedly the 3 is more family friendly with two extra doors and folks love the wider hips.

I'm hoping the delay is just due to BMW currently prioritizing 2023 builds for the flipped 2022s and limited Jahres, and not because dealers are holding the initial batch of 2023 allocations for those who were willing to pay more than MSRP....

Historically, coupe production has always exceeded sedan production. In the past I remember seeing something like 7:1, but that might be a bit high.

A quick search on Cars.com shows a ~3:1 ratio. This probably isn't 100% accurate, but since most dealers list incoming inventory (even if already sold) it's probably not too far off.

Absolutely, my 2 dealers in NY have allocations now. The m3 on the other hand, 1 year for a 6 speed, 6 months for an x-drive.

Which dealers and how long did you wait if you don't mind me asking?

M3 allocations are the hardest to get due to production numbers and the length of the waitlists. I am in Chicago and every dealer has the longest list for the M3, combined with ADM also, depending on the dealership.

Yeah when I put my name down back in March at Motorwerks I was 4th on the list and they offered it to me at MSRP. I've heard now that list has grown and they're asking $10k ADM. It's wild

I am on the list at 2 dealerships; both of which I was told no ADM. If an allocation comes in and they try to add ADM, I will lose it. I don't expect they will, but I didn't expect to wait 6 months (early Feb) for an allocation either. Was told I'd have the car in August. Maybe I will have an allocation by August.

Yeah I meant they're asking for $10k ADM for any new order requests... I'm still good at MSRP.

I remember dealers back in feb/march timeframe were quoting 6-8 months for delivery... how wrong they were

Ah okay. I thought it was a "here is your allocation, by the way... ADM"

Yup, and I remember thinking 6-8 months was eh. Now I would love 6-8 months for delivery. Haha. It is 6-8 months for a dang allocation - maybe.

I was told for delivery. I would have the car in August. But the war. So I am thinking rather than 6-8 months for delivery now, it turned to 6-8 months for an allocation. Ugh.

My bad man! I am told it will be worth it, so trying to hang in there. But ya, looks like 6-8 months for an allocation is the unofficial new thing. I have heard some say a year plus. I am hoping that is not true, but sure seems it. I am 6 months for an allocation; still waiting and assuming 6-8 month build. So 14 months at the higher end of that scenario.

Chomping at the bit for good news for all of us that have been waiting this long.

Man I wish I had gotten on a list back in like November/December. Back then I was thinking, oh it's way too early, I have until October 2022 before my lease ends.
