Reasonable price to pay for window tinting

How much did you pay to tint the M3 windows? How much is too much?

The new stuff out is Nano. It blocks 98% so keeps extremely cool. For all windows including windshield it's around 800-1000 depending on where you live .. ultimately depends on what type of tint you choose.

I was quoted $600 by a shop and I was shocked at that. Found a much more reasonable shop to do xpel xr for $300.

i did xpel xr for $350, it does the job and blocks 88% heat.

xr plus is the new fancy nano ceramic tech with 98% heat rejection, would've run double the money at the few local shops that carry the film

I got everything but the windshield for a bit less than $400. Don't recall the brand of tint, though

Got mine done with Rayno Phanton S9 Nano Ceramic film. Limo on all windows and 50% on front windshield. Same setup I do on my trucks etc. No the BEST to drive at night with but Im in a bright city so its doable.

The S9 has the nano ceramic additives etc and claims 98%. So far so good.

Cost was $750 for everything installed in about 4 hours in Los Angeles.

My sides and rear ceramic Panaflex (80% heat rejection) was $480. He said the Nanoflex (98% heat rejection) would have been $680.

I just had to have my driver side window redone. It was all fine until I took the car for the 1200mi service and immediately afterwards the front corner started peeling back. I can't imagine they did anything with the windows at it, but it was DIRECTLY after the visit. Seems like an odd coincidence. The worst part is waiting the 3 days to roll my window down again.

I wonder if it's possible to see how dark the percentages are before ordering. Any guides? I currently have tints on my current car but don't know what percentage it is.

Usually shops will have some demo glass with tint on it that you can look at.

I’ve always gotten 3M CS 20% all around, Minus windshield and pay about $200. Not ceramic but I always lease , not paying 6-800 for tint on a car i won’t be keeping.

Average prices in CA:

XPel XR Prime Plus Nano Ceramic
$600 for all 5 windows
$250 for front windshield
I paid $750 after discount (on my g80)

Llumar CTX Ceramic
$375 for all 5 windows
$135 for front windshield
I paid $450 for everything (on my f82)

Can I feel a difference? Not enough difference for $300 more. CTX Ceramic did the job just fine on my f82 m4. Hope this helps

I get what you're saying, but you could probably realistically say that about any aspect of the car though to some degree. I don't want to pay an extra $5,000 for carbon fiber parts because I'm only going to have the car for 3 years.

That's True. But it's window tint. I've had no issues with the 3M over the years. Just saying I wouldn't pay 500 + for tint specifically when the difference is negligible
