I wonder how such an important difference in boost results in only marginally more hp.

When I put my b58 engined car in stage 1, I saw a much more dramatic change in power while the boost didn't increased that much.

Does anyone have an explanation ?

Just cause you are dumping more PSI in doesn't always mean you get every HP you think. It's all about the Air temp, fuel, tuning and other factors. It's factory, so the turbo will be in a happy place. If someone cracks the ECU and you go E-85 with some injectors, now you are talking.

So pretty safe to say both the 6MT and ZF8 are easily putting down higher numbers than rated from BMW. Amazing! So can I claim to rock a 500hp manual BMW upon delivery?

You know I was wondering about the differences in output between comp and base model. Is it simply a tune difference? And therefor one could assume the base model can be brought up to comp-level performance?
I've found that the driver skill of a manual driver off sets the power difference of the competition package.

Manual driver skill is equivalent to +30 HP

Well that's been my experience on the streets...

Don’t forget the 10hp you get by switching out the shift knob.

Exactly! If you don't have a baseline with which to compare the data it's potentially all placebo...

Do you have a source for this? it's from logs? I can't find this info anywhere.

I have a base and stock the max boost target is about 17 psi.

I dont doubt it one bit. On paper my G80 6speed isnt much of a difference from my f80 6 speed comp 473hp to 444hp. But from the seat it definitely fees like more than a 29hp difference.
