Like this bumper and grilles?
It's the nicest one I've seen for the g80. The style is a bit outdated though imo. Source: https://www.thedrive.com/news/37132/...y-in-the-works

The 8/M8 is one of the poorest selling models in a really long time. One of the biggest reasons is that they played it super safe with the design. It doesn't justify the price.
I think this would be a step back for anyone who put this on their G8X. Why would you want your car to look like a M340i and a M8 had a baby? But to each their own. |

It's a bit of a lazy effort, to be honest... look at the width of the grills in comparison to the width of the nostril lines coming from the hood. They are almost an inch wider, per side; and in 3D, it won't align with any of the current lines/body work. It's a render that only works in this 2D perspective.

All these renders I would have to see in person bc the more and more I see them and the more and more I get use to the OEM set up the more I just think any sort of grill manipulation will make the car look off. But we will have to see as they come out and how they look in production form

This render was actually provided by a company called Prior Designs as one of their upcoming replacement options for the G8x. They have a couple videos on YT about it, they seem to be a reputable company.

After all the hatred of the new grill, myself being one of them, the longer I see it, the more I like the uniqueness of it. To that point, this redesign looks 'old' to me, and I would rather stick with the <insert funky name> new grills.

And I'm not even too concerned about any aftermarket mods for the grill. As is, it has really grown on me (on most colors anyway). But I didn't like the E9X or the F8X in all colors either. And certainly, every time a new M comes out, it gets thrashed for some reason or another (too heavy, too big, too much overhang, sounds bad, the M deserves a better tranny, etc.) To be expected. No way any car will be universally loved. So if you love your F8X, keep it. I love my E93, and I'm keeping it...even though it's "not a real M". I miss my E46 (should have kept it), and I traded in my F82 for my E93, because I wanted a different experience. I'm ready for the G82, because it's part GT (which I like, for my long backroad-seeking road trips), and part track fiend (power slides and fast back straights galore). It's a really good mix for me. Time will tell if I "love it" and want to keep it, like I do my E93. I'm certainly willing to give it a shot...especially over the RS5 and C63, and any 911 I can afford, and even among the 1st cycle of AMG GTs and 1st Gen R8s I considered for $85 - $95k. I decided I want the latest tech, a snazzy interior, and a solid, responsive engine with a lively chassis. The new G82 checks all those boxes...and I even get a decent backseat as well, which is an added plus. And I like the fact that it will be sort of rare for a while anyway, you won't see a ton of them...just as I don't see a lot of E9Xs floating around. I like that. That was 100% me as well. Now i'm first on the list at my dealership for AWD allocation, $1000 down and just chomping to get it seeing all these performance reviews. The grills are "different" no doubt, but the rest of the package seems awesome.

And the interest rates are so low that I'm going to buy this car, which will be my first new car ever (first new car factory smell ). I've always bought 3- to 4-year old cars, but now I want all the latest technologies (I'm a tech geek when it comes to cars, I love all the newfangled options and buttons ), and I want a snazzy interior...and the silverstone interior will do the trick. If the payment is going to be about the same, for me it makes sense to purchase this one (I leased a F82, with no regrets...but the payment was much less than a purchase payment). |
