The F80 M3 was not great sounding, I thought BMW would work on that and make the G80 sound a bit better but I guess not.
If sound is what you're after get an M340i and just add some aftermarket parts. The single turbo sounds so much better and I think that's exactly what I'm doing. BMW nailed the M340i IMO, and given the fact I have a track toy already, I'd love a great sounding daily car for myself. Don't need the M3/M4 specific suspension and all that. Give me a nice sounding, comfortable, handsome car with less performance and a much better sound over the M3/M4 any day of the week as long as I have a track toy to fulfill my speed needs. |

Wow. that grill looks a lot better than got x5. I'm hoping this trend continues for the g20 to g22/82. please make the grill on the 4 series look better than the current 3

Hard to tell, but sounds okay to me. We'll have to wait and see (hear)!

Uhh, what's an OPF? I am but a humble former E92 owner interested in one of these, and those cars simply used a compressed mix of fuel and air to propel the car forward and make lots of noise.

Would make no difference. Exhaust valves still fully open in comfort at 100% throttle above a certain RPM and the car sounds exactly the same at high load / high RPM as it would in Sport. Inside the car, active sound is much quieter in comfort which is why it seems different.

I suppose if the car really does end up sounding like that, aftermarket exhausts will be flying off the shelves.
Or, the real reason is that BMW will be making a pretty penny from customers ticking the M performance exhaust |

Tree hugging EU policy makers hate exhaust sound because it insults their Priuses.

Looks like I'll be ordering one with an MPE... again.

I have a feeling that's probably all part of their plan...£££
I'd like to think there will be. I think the M5 has the option of the MPE over here so would have thought there would be one for future M models too. |

with OPF filters and possible speed regulation in new models it will be guaranteed for me that I will never (or hold out as long as i can) purchase a 2019 and up vehicle.
For me the OPF filter automatically ruins it for me. I am quite sure many people will not spend 70k plus when it drops for it to sound equivalent to a M340i with a MPE. It isn't bmw's fault but it's very disappointing. e90/e92 m3's will become pricy down the road i think. |

As for the GPS speed tracking law, let's just hope it fails miserably and there is a lot of backlash resulting in it being repealed. |
