Anyone want to venture a guess how much the CS' CF hood will sell for (to G8X owners who want to upgrade)?

At this point everyone has realized this isn't "temporary".

I am guessing 2023 models will see 10% msrp increases, question is can dealers still markup if that happens? How many will pay $100k for a standard M3…
10%?

So an xdrive will go from 77k to 84k in one MY for a no option car? Maybe I'm being optimistic but that's kind of out of there.

Doubt it. Big companies like BMW use hedging (of various things including currency) to smooth out variations in the market over the production run. It’s all planned in advance as much as possible.

There may be price increases but I doubt it will be like we’ve seen for the Nissan GTR.

BMW has been really conservative in increasing MSRP for MY22 unlike most other OEMs. I would be surprised if MY23 MSRP is increased more than $3k.

If history is any guidance and BMW intend to honor the CSL badge the sharing of power train with the CS should not be a concern as to intentions of making the CSL very special.

The original CSL, the first version of the E9 3.0 CSL also shared powertrain and output with the E9 3.0 CS. However it was 215 kg lighter. You read that right right, an eye popping 474 lbs…

How?

“It had thinner body panels, no front bumper, fibreglass rear bumper, racing latches to the bonnet, side windows made from Plexiglass and alloy-skinned opening panels, all to aid in weight reduction.”

Needless to say I’m extremely curious about this car and anyone looking at the CS and CSL with deep enough pockets and think they can get allocations to either should IMO forget about the CS. The CSL is the name of the game here

Considering BMW claims the M5 CS is 200lb lighter but in reality is more like half that, I doubt you'll see any dramatic differences on the M3 CS. A CF hood may appear, but I doubt any other body panels will differ. And certainly no front bumper deletion or plexiglass windows.

I agree, the CSL is going to be the special one. The CS is likely to be a much faster M3C while the M4 CSL will be a special animal quite different from the other G8Xs.

Actually I bet the CS will likely be faster, given the AWD traction, whereas the CSL will provide a more special, raw experience. Just my hunch.

The CSL has to be the better feeling and faster car on track, at least on the Nurburgring.

The CS will be what the acronym implies, a more "club sport" oriented M3.

So has anyone actually gotten confirmation that the M3CS is coming out in the US and have gotten on lists with deposits, etc.? I was speaking with the GM at my local dealership whom I have a really good relationship with (I got the first allocation of the 22 G80 XDrive comp w $500 off msrp) so naturally I asked about getting one of the earlier allocations or to get on the list for the M3CS, and he told me that he was at a dinner with BMW corporate guys a night or two ago and they mentioned to him that the M3 CS isn't even coming to America. I know it's likely BS and he's just saying that so that when the allocation or "list" is available they can sell at whatever markup they want, but I was just wondering if anyone else had heard anything similar?

As of two weeks ago, the US CS was still planned, and pre-production US specs cars were still being built.

Having said that, I've seen US models being cancelled even past this stage, so there's no guarantee until the official announcement. And if the decision has been made just a few days ago, I'll learn about it within a month and will report.

I bet the CSL will walk the CS on track similarly but not equally to how an RWD 911 GT3 walk an AWD Turbo and Turbo S. You are right in that AWD is a performance enhancer on the same car, especially a front engine car but the CS and CSL will be very different where the CSL will be much more track tuned in chassis and aero. If CSL history is any indication that is.

They will get the most weight savings with a lite weight battery probably.

I hope it doesn't get the rear bucket seats. I find a sedan pointless without rear folding seats.

So I don't have conformation, I like many others have put a deposit down, luckily enough I was the first one to be put on the list for the CS. While I was there I was speaking to the manager of my local dealer and he said they should be announcing both CS and CSL this Friday so the 20th of May. How true that may be, I guess we will have to wait and find out.

Talked to my dealer and nothing yet, can't put down deposit. But after saw m4 CSL price and looks, I have second thoughts now. I'm hoping m3 cs will price at $107k or less consider the base m3 x drive start at $77k. And m3 x drive also can get more colors interior options.

It's not going to be cheaper, same power and 4WD and carbon bits. It will be the exact same price.

What makes you think it would be 32k cheaper than an M4 CSL with the same stuff in it?

Yes, you are right, that is why I have second thought about it now , it was just wishful thinking lol, I know it aren't going to be cheap, double the price of m3 x drive?

I would not pay double the price of a M3 xDrive for a M3 CS. What for a little extra power? The M3 xDrive is roughly the same car as the M3 CS. These special edition BMWs are not worth it.
