A bit off topic but did you get yours from Voss or Evans? I'm still fairly new to Ohio.

I've seemed to find that Voss was easier to get into with a loaner but whenever I talked to them about buying they didn't seem to be car guys or know anything about Ms which turned me off. I go through cars too much so I like building a relationship with a sales person, talking cars and repeat buying.

I found a salesman at Evans that can actually hold a conversation and is knowledgeable with Ms and other stuff so I brought there. (I'm #1 on the allocation list and he said there are about 3 or 4 behind me) My sales guy said that if I ever need maintenance to just call him and he'll get me a loner if I need one, but I'm going to have a 2017 X4 M40i as my winter/bad weather car so I may not need loaners much anymore. I'm gonna start having everything done at Evans.

With new models - does anyone know VPC policy when cars arrive in U.S.? If I recall from previous experience - M3/M4 have to wait for certification which on my last car (new model MB C43AMG) four years ago took about three weeks! I just read on another blog someone waiting for "new" X4M bringing up issue since it has same engine as M3/M4's

Mine sat at the port for maybe 2 weeks before I was able to track that it started moving to the PC. Not sure what the official reason for the delay was though.

Sorry about this Geektechlive. I've been off line for the last few weeks mostly becasue of the frustration of how long it's taking to have my car delivered.

Sharpe BMW in Grand Rapids, MI is my BMW dealer. They notified me that the car will be delivered to them by 25Jul21, which is a Sunday. I'm not sure why they'll deliver a car on Sunday, since the dealership will be closed. So I'm thinking it will be delivered on Monday. I've been told that Sharpe BMW will need a day or two to go through the last inspection, then a detail to tidy up the car. So I'm hoping that I can take delivery some time between 27Jul21 to 30Jul21.

The color I ordered for the interior color is Black Merino leather with the carbon fiber trim, and the carbon fiber bucket seats.

It'll be soo- o-o-o-o swee-e-e-e-e-t.

Sorry for not replying to you sooner babyghost. I've been off line for the past few weeks.

I can't tell you how long of a delay it is for the carbon ceramics would be. I can tell you that I switched my mind to add them about 4 weeks after I placed my order with my dealer. I think I was able to do this because it was around the Christmas holiday and the German factories had been on holiday.

That being said, I think the parts shortages (electronic boards and such) have delayed the delivery of my M4. My M4 is scheduled to be delivered this next week so I'll probably post some pictures and a few words as to what has been happening with me.

I'm not sure this will help you, but I wouldn't hold back on the ceramic brakes if you intend to track your future car. They're very expensive, but ultimately I think they'll be worth it.
