It's definitely firm and things like broken pavement make the car pogo. Also gets upset with the right bump mid corner. The good news it that nothing I've come across has caused the crashing over bump sensation. I assume it's when a car hits the bump stops and is an absolute deal breaker for me. Having IMHO the best riding performance sedan-Giulia QV-in the garage has definitely spoiled me. I should note I live in the Chicagoland area with roads overall that aren't great. The M3 is fine as a daily but I'll be looking for suspension upgrades to improve ride quality.

I'd second the comment on the run flats. I had an X5 and it felt worse than the G80 at times. Also smashed a rim and tire in a pretty average pot hole one time.
Having said that, I'm just 200 miles in to the G80 and was out this afternoon in bad weather in New York and Connecticut and it was fairly noisy and harsh in spots which is to be expected in an M I guess. I suppose most cars wouldn't feel great on these roads. It's not a 7 series boat after all but it's pretty good for a sports sedan and not too much of a compromise in my view. Wife and baby don't seem to mind it. Only way to know if you'll like it is to drive it |

Road noise is a little high though, that's my only complaint. Less sound insulation in an M car.

I have driven my G80 M3 since week of release in March. I can tell you that when I take my wife for a "drive" around town, say 20-40 mile drive she falls asleep in comfort mode almost every time. The ride is stiff, but plush. Now, in sport + across the board, the car remains comfortable but much more aggressive and even stiffer. It feels much more like a proper M car, very sporty and SUPER aggressive if you ask it to respond. It will pull like a proverbial "bat out of Hell" - To the redline in every gear. Switch back to comfort and it's a kitty cat. On the Base M3, I find the ride very comfortable but it is an M performance machine so ymmv.

Feels harsher than my CS or my base F80 in Sport + than either of those cars did in Sport+. I haven't driven in Comfort yet.
Don't let your significant other, male or female, drive these decisions (pun intended).

Well my dealership left the shipping blocks on the rear suspension so for the first 1200 miles I thought the ride was terrible. LOL. Once they were removed I found the ride incredibly comfortable. Not like my X3 but very impressive for a sports car of this caliber. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed in the ride quality in comfort mode.

My 2018 m3 comp manual was pretty skippy over some rough pavement, especially during cornering. The fact that all the weight is lower down with the carbon roof definitely has a factor in that as well. The new g80's are heavier and bigger, so that may help absorb some bumps and skips here and there. I have driven the m340i's before and they are very comfortable compared to the full blown m cars. My m2 comp right now would be considered "brutal" as far as every day driving, compared to the super plush 3 and x series loaners they give me.

Pretty sure the ride is configured to be just as performance oriented as all previous M3 were but the stiffer chassis and bracing makes it feel more compliant. At least that was my perception during M4 test drive.
Just look at what happened to the M2, when 2019 comps were released everyone was praising the new suspension tuning and all until we realised that the only difference between 2018 and 2019 was the additional M3 front alu/carbon brace and the additional weight of the S55 and bigger brakes/wheels...

Test drove a G80 Comp with 19/20 PZeros a while ago, the ride was so good in comfort compares to a F80 ZCP. The G80 is much better damped, I don't think it's stiff at all. My friend's KW Clubsport three-way F80 is my definition of stiff.

My .02 cents is the suspension of the latest M cars is how all BMWs should be... there is a balance between comfort and performance. After all BMWs are supposed to be the "Ultimate Driving Machine". |

I never felt like my M2C was crashy and I have driven on bad Sam Diego roads. It's stiff but very well tuned for a static setup.

Ride in comfort mode is better compared to my m235i, worse than my X5.

M340i with xdrive
Also seeing the comments on the G82 make me happy that I'm getting one.
