IND sells some but they don’t look great imo. Better just to learn how to lower yourself in by putting a hand on the lower door sill.

Lol don’t worry, I’m one of those idiots also. Luckily, as a “woman-sized man” at 6ft 200lbs I fit amazing in mine. I also feel like I have plenty of adjustability left to go up or down 6 inches and fluctuate +/- 50lbs

For the first 24k miles of my car I’d have said yes since it was a garage queen.

Now I’m commuting it more regularly and I would say no.

If it’s truly a daily get the sport seats.

Yesterday i had a test drive with a g82 M4 with race track pack and carbon buckets. After one hour of driving it was good, bit pain in my back because those seats are really tight but nothing serious. So I thought I would change my order to carbon buckets than i tried an M3cs…..for me, with my body type the m3 with carbon buckets it is a nightmare to get out of the car, i remained with my original order, with m sport seats.

None of you have driven a GT3RS with barely adjustable carbon buckets and it shows lol.

The carbon seats in the M3 are amazeballs for "buckets".

Unless you are delivering Uber Eats in your M3 and getting in and out every 10min I don't see the big deal. It certainly gives the car a more theatrical feel when you get in than the standard business man seats. YMMV.

I've used both versions on track and the buckets are a must as well.

The Porsche buckets are available in many more models than just the GT3RS. Agree, the M3 buckets are easier to live with than the Porsche buckets and certainly worth, to me, the daily use commitment for their specialness.

I have some sciatica and ocassional lumbar pain, I really didn’t like the Recaro Sportster CS seats on my manual 1M, but was wondering if the BMW carbon bucket seats on a Auto are gonna be a problem for me?

The car would be my daily, with a few long trips each year. Besides getting in and out, the carbon buckets on my GT4 are actually pretty comfortable. Not ideal for long trips but also not the end of the world.

If anyone can give me feedback I would greatly appreciate it. My heart says bucket but my head says regular Msport. But at the end of the day I need to enjoy the car and I really don’t want to sit in it all cramped up.

So yeah, any feedback from those of you with a bit of postural pain like me would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Dave
So I had a ‘22 g80 with the comfort seats and while they are easier to get in and out of, they weren’t any better for my sciatica or low back. Put about 25k mikes on that car and noticed my symptoms would act up by the second hour of driving (I used to commute a lot). Now I have a ‘23 g80 with carbon bucket seats and while they are significantly more difficult to get in and out of, I don’t really notice my sciatica act up as much. My low back has also done well in carbon bucket seats. There’s sweet spot of seat settings that allow for more comfort whilst keeping you engaged in the driving. This is dependent on your body. Also, I’ve put about 10k mikes on the ‘23 and still am commuting quite a bit. Carbon buckets are my preferred seat for the g80.

I switch from my M2 with carbon buckets to my CSL and can say that after you get in they are more than comfortable for daily driving… hense after you get in… and get out is the hard part…. That being said it is not for a traveling salesman.

If anyone choses to get cb seats, I highly recommend these to avoid the excessive wear and tear on your side bolsters from getting in and out of your car. https://ind-distribution.com/collect...-protector-set

I have. Yes, the G8X buckets are way more comfortable.

But why make declarative statements like this? They are no big deal….to you. Everyone’s circumstances and use case are different. Are you loading your elderly 76 year father in and out of the car a few times per month? I am. Are you 6’2”, and therefore don’t fit well between the wheel and the bolsters? I don’t….and my son is 6’4”. Do you plan on regularly transporting business associates and clients who aren’t car people and unlikely to be amused at clamoring in and out of the buckets? I am. Are you duckfooted and have your outer thigh constantly pressed into the outer bolster edge? I am.

So yeah, YMMV. No one’s walking in my shoes, and I respect someone’s else’s decision. I’ve tried the buckets and they are comfortable. Mostly. Are they worth the hassle of ingress and egress? Only you can make that call. For me, for the mission that I want this car for, they are not.

Good points. I get a car allowance for work they I'm using to pay for this thing and there is no way in hell I would show up to a client meeting with those buckets.

I've been trying to find someone to make a set, shouldn't be that difficult.

This is a really good point. When we visit the father in law I have to take the truck with the power side steps.
No way I’m getting him out of the carbon bucket at 83. I’d have to call 911 for help. LOL

Exactly.

I’m coming out of a 911. The entire reason I was selling it is that it was impractical. For my elderly father. For kids and their friends. For clients and taking a group of coworkers to lunch. To parking in the garage with long coupe doors.

First world problems? Sure. But I owned that car for 3 years…and another for 3 years before it. I know the compromises and I lived with them. So yes, I could do it. Right now, that’s not that I want to deal with. I don’t want to haul my dad out of a seat he can’t climb out of. He has enough problems with my Cayenne.

Know thyself to lead thyself.

I read that comment and thought WTF? 24,000 miles on a garage queen with buckets. How is that not basically a DD?

Anyway, it’s not about garage queen or DD, it’s the drivers commitment and use case (beyond the driver) and everyone’s personal answer is correct.

Well it may be a garage queen but it’s also driven just about daily😂.

Lots of rallies, canyon weekend trips, and just driving for the sake of driving.

In Orange County you have to go semi far for fun and clear roads.

Don’t get me wrong..

I still absolutely love the seats.

Just sometimes I can see why the sport seat would be a nice option.

Will I get the sport seats on my final production year build? Hell no.

They are designed for smaller frames. I’m 5’8” 165 lb and it feels like those seats were custom made for me.
