Officially recommended fuel - gas flap sticker

Here's sticker from the EU model.
Let's post from the other markets too.

Don't have a photo but mine has the same Shell V-Power recommendation sticker and then also states that a minimum 91 octane is preferred.

E25 !?!

Ohhhh noooo —— please no.

[if there’s a silver lining, it’s that the system doesn’t flinch at ethanol content in the gas]

Yep many people doing it, helps the octane rating AKI. Also as you see above its recommended on the gas cap for euro cars.

According to CA lawmakers, reading this post may cause cancer

To a more serious note: Doesn't the manual say you can use e25? or e20? ----> Yup, I checked. Page 348. e25 approved.

The thought of CA may cause cancer, but damn 70s most of the year must be nice. Florida is sweaty lol

I wonder if there’s any gains to mix a little e85 on a factory car

Maybe not necessarily gains, but it won't be pulling timing due to bad gas (which is at most stations), so your car can make its full amount of power.

The additional octane boost really helps with consistency, especially once temps are elevated outside.

BMS often does a baseline dyno when they get a new car in for testing on 91 octane as well as “93 octane”, which is simply E85 mixed in with 91. On stock BMWs dating back to the N55, as well as other platforms entirely, 3-4 gallons of E85 to a tank of 91 consistently has shown gains of 8-12 RWHP with no other changes.

Thanks for the info! Probably a good idea for visiting Mexico to combat heat soak and track days.

I'm in SoCal and we don't have 93 octane. In my county of course. Sucks other states can put 93 for their S58 cars

BMW sells cars around the world. The fuels are different around the world. In Brazil by law fuel has 25 percent ethanol. Do you think BMW designs a different fueling system for every country? No, they design one fueling system for the whole world and they adapt they use software to manage the engine.

Why do you think there is so much room in the stock fueling system in our cars? ...cause in some countries there is E25 by law and these cars need to flow that fuel, make 500hp and still have a safety margin for extreme heat.

Actually for F20 there is a slightly different fuel system for flex fuel VO S1AEA.

The fuel supply module is different and the fuel filter is external unlike the typical internal ones.

I have no idea exactly what's the difference between the 2 fuel supply modules. Just that flex fuel one has return line while the rest don't
